WUSA9 aired a segment featuring Lincoln Temple's oldest member, Catherine Gaines, who is turning 107 on November 9th. We've always known that she is a remarkable woman. Born in 1916, Miss Gaines has witnessed great changes in the world, has lived a life of service to others, and keeps us all laughing with her quick wit and easy smile. Happy birthday, Catherine!

Native Washingtonian Catherine Gaines was born two days after Woodrow Wilson was elected president.

Members of Lincoln Temple gathered at Faith Ucc DC to listen to our former Sr. Pastor, Barbara Breland, preach the Good Word and worship with our extended church family on Sunday.

Members of Lincoln Temple gathered at Peoples Congregational United Church of Christ on Sunday October 15th to help celebrate the 80th birthday and 47 years of ministry of Rev. Rubin Tendai. Moderator Jeanne Cooper delivered remarks at a luncheon held after worship service. Rev. Tendai was an intentional interim minister at Lincoln Temple for many years.

Minister Geneva Hudson and Rosa Wilson paid a visit to Catherine Gaines yesterday at her home. During their visit, Miss Gaines received calls from Jeanne Cooper and Karen Marrow. God is still speaking at Lincoln Temple!

The world has put 🎄Christmas on the 75% off shelves but the church is only partway into the 12 days of Christmas. The Magi were still on their journey when everyone else had gone home. If you are caught between the discount shelf and the difficulty of the journey, there is hope for you. God's promise of Love isn't revoked because Christmas decorations are packed away. ❤️ Your life has value even when you are unable to recognize it. God doesn't give up on anyone, even those of us who struggle and get lost along the way.
