As this day comes to a close and we bow our heads in prayer, Shiloh Baptist Church joins the nation in mourning the passing of Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr.

Rev. Jackson was more than a towering figure in the Civil Rights Movement. He was a friend to Shiloh, a voice of moral clarity, and a constant reminder that faith must move beyond the sanctuary and into the streets. His life reflected a deep and unwavering commitment to justice, dignity, and opportunity for those too often pushed to the margins.

From marching alongside Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. to building bridges across communities through the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, Rev. Jackson carried the call for equality into boardrooms, ballot boxes, and pulpits around the world. He challenged this nation to live up to its promise, and he challenged the Church to lead with courage.

We will miss his prophetic voice, his unshakeable faith, and his steadfast belief that justice belongs to everyone.

We extend our prayers to the Jackson family and to all who were shaped by his leadership and legacy.

“Well done, good and faithful servant.”

PNBC Remembers the Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr.

The Progressive National Baptist Convention pauses to honor a giant among us.

Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. was not merely a public figure. He was a prophetic voice in the wilderness. A drum major for justice. A preacher who stood flat footed and declared that every child of God is somebody.

He did not whisper hope. He proclaimed it.
He did not borrow courage. He embodied it.
He did not bow when the winds shifted. He stood.

Through marches and movements, pulpits and platforms, he reminded a nation that faith must have feet and that justice is love in public.

We thank God for his witness.
We thank God for his courage.
We thank God for the generations he lifted with his words.

Well done, good and faithful servant.
Take your rest now.

Rest in power.
