September theme is: “Radical Embodiment”
Radical Embodiment will contain both an exploration of somatic practices and wisdom to connect to the wisdom of our bodies, as well as an examination of the ways the body has been misused and maligned both in Western culture at large and sometimes even within SOM teachings. By understanding the roots of the misunderstanding and mistreatment of the body, we can radically–from the root–learn to embody our teachings as well as ourselves. Honoring the body as a sacred vessel and as a primary text for spiritual understanding, this month will provide an open-at-the-top understanding of embodiment as both something to be practiced and an ideal for which to strive. Beginning with the Collective Outer experience, we will examine social narratives of the body and work to align ourselves with a SOM perspective that affirms the goodness of all creation, including the created body as it is.

This Sunday, CSL Concordia welcomes Ministerial student and Practitioner, Julia Mattis for Week 1 of our Global Theme: Radical Embodiment. Julia’s message, “Inhabiting Togetherness,” explores how embodiment moves in widening circles — from the self, to our families, to our communities, to our organization, and even into the body of our nation. Join for a spacious, heart-centered, metaphysical reflection on reclaiming the body as sacred and remembering all humanity belonging in the One Life.
