Almighty God, on this 25th anniversary of September 11, we remember.

We remember the lives lost, each one beloved, each one known fully by you. We remember families who still carry absence, first responders who ran toward danger, and ordinary people who, in an extraordinary moment, chose courage, compassion, and neighborliness.

We remember the fear and grief of that day, but we also remember what rose up in the midst of it: courage, sacrifice, generosity, and love.

God of all nations, make us a people who refuse to surrender to fear. Lead our nation in the ways of justice, mercy, reconciliation, and peace.

Remind us that darkness never has the final word. Light always finds its way through. Hope rises. Love endures.

On this day of remembrance, make our remembering holy— not only looking back at what was lost, but looking forward with renewed resolve to build a world more worthy of those we remember.

May we be people of courage.
May we be people of peace.
May we be people of hope.
And above all, may we be people of love.

Amen.

Be yourself. It's who God made you.

Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is eat something and go back to sleep.

I know that might not sound like the devotional insight you were expecting. Not every hard season requires more striving, more praying, more pushing through. Sometimes what your soul actually needs is what God prescribed for Elijah at his lowest point in 1 Kings 19: bread, sleep, and the gentlest voice saying get up and eat.

God is not disappointed in your exhaustion.
He is tender toward it.

Rest is not the absence of faith. Sometimes it is exactly what He is asking of you. And on the other side of the rest, He will still be there with everything you need for the next step. 💛

Gratitude does not require a perfect season. It begins when we pause long enough to notice the quiet gifts that are already present: a needed conversation, daily bread, a moment of rest, or strength for one more step.

Colossians 3:15 connects the peace of Christ with thankfulness. As gratitude becomes a rhythm, it gently redirects our attention from what is missing toward the grace God continues to provide.
