Three years…
October 7, 2023, was the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust.
It is a date that will remain etched in the heart of our people forever.
The lives brutally taken. The families forever changed. The children who lost loved ones and, with them, their innocence. The hostages and their families. The trauma that still lingers. And in its wake, a frightening surge of antisemitism around the world.
October 7 left a wound that will never fully heal.
But history will also remember what emerged in its aftermath: an extraordinary outpouring of Jewish pride, unity, courage and resilience.
Throughout the generations, the Jewish people have faced unimaginable darkness. Yet no enemy has ever succeeded in extinguishing the flame of the Jewish spirit.
They sought to break us. Instead, we stood taller.
Now more than ever, we must stand against hate and embrace who we are—openly, proudly, and without fear.
And perhaps one of the most meaningful ways we can honor those whose lives were taken is to continue their light: to take on one good deed, one mitzvah, one act of kindness in their memory. In that way, their light continues to shine through us.
After everything we have endured, the Jewish people are still here. And we will remain.
May the memories of all those murdered on October 7 forever be a blessing.
Am Yisrael Chai.
