WEEKLY REFLECTION – The Most Holy Trinity reveals that love is the very structure of reality. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are not three “parts” of God, but one God whose very being is a communion of self-giving love. That means the universe is not built on power, competition, or isolation—it’s built on relationship.
One of the clearest examples of the Holy Trinity acting together is the Baptism of Jesus.
What happens in this moment?
The Son — Jesus stands in the Jordan River, humbly receiving baptism.
The Father — A voice from heaven declares, “This is my beloved Son.”
The Holy Spirit — The Spirit descends like a dove and rests upon Jesus.
This moment shows the Trinity not as an abstract idea but as a living relationship acting in the world:
The Father speaks love.
The Son receives the mission.
The Spirit empowers the mission.
One God, three Persons, united in one saving action.
What the Trinity Shows Us About God
God as Communion — The Father pours out love, the Son receives and returns that love, and the Spirit is the living bond between them.
God as Self-Gift — The Trinity is not static; it’s an eternal exchange of giving and receiving.
God as Near — The Father creates, the Son redeems, the Spirit sanctifies. One God, acting in three distinct ways to draw us into divine life.
What the Trinity Shows Us About Ourselves
Because we are made in the image of the Trinity, we are made for:
Relationship — We flourish when we love and allow ourselves to be loved.
Unity without sameness — The Trinity teaches that difference is not a threat to unity.
Mission — As the Father sends the Son and the Spirit, we too are sent into the world to reflect divine love.
The Trinity always works together:
The Father creates.
The Son saves.
The Spirit sanctifies.
But every action of God is one action, flowing from perfect unity.
Father, draw me into Your love. Jesus, help me live Your self-giving. Holy Spirit, make me a vessel of unity and peace.
