The Month of May is wrapping up and we invite you—yes, YOU—to come and worship with us at Minor Memorial United Methodist Church this Trinity Sunday (May 31st) to experience the life of the spirit-filled church! We would love to welcome you to our wonderful church where everybody is somebody and Jesus IS Lord!
Sermon: “The Face of the Peacemaker”
Matthew 5:44-45, 6:14-15
Romans 12:21
Psalm 34:14
Matthew 5:9
War. Climate change. Severe poverty and hunger. Global health challenges. Political instability, unrest, and conflict. Lack of access to clean water and education. Widespread inequality and discrimination, all exacerbated by factors like misinformation and failing economies. Let’s face it, friends. Our world is in trouble. But there is only one power greater than any troubles the world has seen: Love. As followers of Christ, we are called to be blessed peacemakers. That is, we are to be the reflection of the Triune God. The deeper meaning of the Trinity is that God is inherently a loving, relational community of three distinct Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who are unified in one eternal divine essence. This reveals that God is not a lonely, solitary entity, but rather "love" itself, designed to extend that divine communion and relationality to humanity. Will you ask God to make you a channel of His peace?
As this is also Peace with Justice Sunday, we will be taking a special offering to support ministries that work for peace and fairness around the world. It’s a day when the church speaks out against violence and inequality and renews its commitment to be peacemakers—just as Jesus taught. 🫱🏻🫲🏿
