Dear Friends,
On Thursday, October 15 at 6pm, Deacon John Iseman will be ordained into the priesthood of God’s one holy, catholic and apostolic church. Deacon John, Jackie, Eliza, and Josiah joined us five years ago. Jackie’s sister Jennifer joined us a little more than a year ago and added to their family and their impact on our church life. Over those five years, Deacon John, Jackie and their family have grown to be integral parts of our life together in both ministry and friendship. Though we can look towards their work among us and see tangible areas of growth and new life in the church, Deacon John, Jackie Jennifer and their children have added so much more to our church life together than measurable growth. They have brought piety, joy and a deep sense of God’s calling for each and every person to be a fully formed disciple of Jesus in word and deed to the life of our church.
Because of this I am taking the opportunity, on behalf of the whole congregation, to say thank you to soon to be Father John, Jackie, Jenifer, Eliza and Josiah for their life amongst us. Thank you for your self-sacrificing care for our church, its people and for me personally. I, as do we all, thank God for you and pray for all of you as Deacon John becomes Father John and your family continues to live out a call to serve together as ministers of the Gospel in his
Church and at St. Paul’s.
