Current For Women Current For Women Events "Imagine what it would be like...to take some time to be quiet, to worship, to listen, to heal." - Jill Ludlow

Current For Women is a series of events and conferences devoted to the specific spiritual and emotional needs of women. These events are designed for women to take a special weekend away to "Pause, Listen and Receive", and have a restoring and refreshing encounter with their Creator. Displayed through wonderfully creative settings, excellent worship through music with Full Sail Band, inspirational

life stories from other women, and practical teaching from the Bible by Jill Ludlow, each women is given the time to find a "safe" place to relax and receive something from God. "Over these many years of ministry, while listening to the hearts of women around the globe from countless backgrounds and walks of life, I have become convinced that women work really hard at the lives they lead – striving to be the best wives, moms, professionals, volunteers – all around good people -- they feel they should and could be. However, below the surface busyness of the momentary goals and responsibilities, there is a current that pours out from the deep places of every woman from which her dreams, longings, fears, passions…flow – seldom addressed, rarely touched. I am even more convinced of the depths of God – His moving on our behalf – always at work, always pursuing, always loving, always longing for us. Out of this growing awareness has been an equally growing passion to provide a safe place, time and experience for women to sit back, to pause a moment in the busyness of their lives, to receive His touch and to relax into His Current. The result is a new women’s event called Current for Women (C4W)." - Jill Ludlow

Merry Christmas! Emmanuel has come to stay!
- From our home to yours, Merry Christmas!

What a wonderful time of year!

The lights, the gatherings, the goodies, the music, the connection…and the beautiful trek back to a manger in Bethlehem! We love the fresh new discoveries of the old sweet story that still delight our hearts with the most extravagant gift of all – the gift of God’s only Son to bring us Home.

This year, our thoughts were drawn to the “tangible” nature of God’s gift.
“We saw Him with our very own eyes.
We gazed upon Him and heard Him speak.
Our hands actually touched Him -
the One Who was from the beginning,
the Living Expression of God.”
(I John 1:1)

A couple of weeks ago, our dear friend and ministry partner, Jordanne Fulcher, put out a creative challenge to a group of us. In it, she reflected on Jesus as the Light of God coming into our dark world.

She encouraged us to go out and try to gaze at the sun. Even in winter, staring at the sun for longer than just seconds is not only impossible but dangerous to the eye! We cannot behold its brilliance. It is far too bright to look at.

Then she reminded us of the story of John the Beloved while on the island of Patmos in Revelation 1, when Jesus appeared to him in all His glory – hair white as wool, eyes like blazing fire, feet glowing like bronze, voice like rushing waters!! Jesus was so brilliant, John fell at His feet as though dead.

It wasn’t until Jesus came and placed His right hand on John’s shoulder and spoke, “Don’t be afraid. It’s me!” that John was able to recognize the One he knew so well, but now beheld in the fullness of His glory!

Jordanne concluded:

“If any of us were to see the full glory of God in this moment, the same thing would probably happen to us. But this blinding light is not how Jesus revealed Himself. He came like candlelight, born at night – the full majesty of God wrapped up in a vulnerable newborn. He offers His light to us meekly so that we can approach, receive, and hold closely the flame that fills all in all. He shines softly in ways that we can digest, slowly expanding our capacity to behold more of His brightness. Like the candlelight, He restrains His power for the sake of love.”

God “gentled” Himself in Jesus – brought Himself near enough to touch, to hold, to experience, to intimately know. Is there anything more precious than this gift of Emmanuel – God WITH us?

Last year, our son Trevor released a song on the Cageless Birds Christmas album called, Humble King. Give a listen and allow God’s greatest Gift to draw near to you today!

Last Sunday was funday!

Got the trailer mostly loaded in the cool of the morning. We head to Mexico this Sunday so I had to get the trailer ready for the trip out west at the end of the month. Axles greased, brakes and electrical checked, non-slip paint on the ramp and brand new commercial carpet and base boards on the floor (Thanks to the great work of Brian Keeley's American Floors!).

So many great things planned for all this gear! :)

“The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help…went up to God. (He) heard their groaning and was…concerned about them…And when they heard that the Lord was concerned about them, and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshipped.”
(Exodus 2:23-24; 4:31)

What does it do for me when I know that someone has truly noticed what I'm going through and is moved with compassion by my suffering?

Just knowing that I’m seen and genuinely cared for by someone can melt me into a puddle of deepest relief. It communicates that I’m not alone.

We are not alone.

A tender look in God’s eyes, a gentle tone in His Voice, a comforting word from His heart can change everything. It can bring a heart back to trust, to rest, to hope, to life.

Oasis Retreat is designed to provide space and time in the quiet for a fresh encounter with the One Who knows us best and loves us most. Through worship, devotional thoughts, prayer, interactive Reflective Stations and stillness, Oasis helps focus our thoughts and attention back on God, and positions our hearts to receive the healing, refreshment, and comfort He longs to give us.

Come for all or a portion of the time on Friday and Saturday. Coffee and water will be provided. If staying the whole day on Saturday, feel free to bring a sack lunch to enjoy. This a free event for both men and women (teenagers and adults) with no registration necessary. Donation boxes for a freewill love offering for the work of Full Sail Ministries will be available at the Resource Table.

“In my distress I called to the Lord; I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard my voice; my cry came before Him, into His ears.”
