Join us this Sunday, August 9 for Beach Baptism at Sandbridge Beach!

There’s something special about celebrating new life in Christ surrounded by your church family. We’ll gather at Little Island Park and meet down by the water at 4pm to celebrate as people publicly declare their faith through baptism.

If you’ve been thinking about taking this next step in your walk with Christ, there’s still time to sign up. Visit wearecrossway.org/baptism for more information or to let us know you’re interested.

We hope you’ll join us as we celebrate what God is doing in the lives of His people.

This week in Crossway Kids, we learned about hope through the story of Elijah.

During a time of famine, Elijah trusted God to provide, and God faithfully cared for him through a widow and her family. Just like Elijah, we can have hope because we know God is faithful and keeps His promises.

Take a few minutes as a family this week to talk about these questions:
• What do you do when you feel worried, afraid, or unsure?
• How can God help when those feelings come?

Then spend time praying together. Thank God for His forgiveness through Jesus, ask Him to remind you of His love and hope, pray for one another, and pray for someone who needs God’s comfort today.

For a fun reminder, have your kids use play dough to spell the word “hope” and talk about how we can always trust God.

This week in Crossway Kids, we learned that Jesus is compassionate.

Jesus looked at the crowds with compassion because He cared deeply for them, and He cares just as deeply for us today. God showed His greatest compassion by sending Jesus so we could have a relationship with Him.

Set aside a few minutes as a family this week to talk about these questions:
• How does God show that He really cares about you?
• How can remembering those ways help when you feel sad, mad, or alone?

Then talk about what compassion means and think of one way each family member can show compassion this week. Write each idea on a strip of paper, link them together into a paper chain, and hang it somewhere you’ll see it as a reminder to show God’s love to others.
