Behold Your King: The Gospel According to Matthew
“Christ: King of Promise”
Matthew 1:1-17

Introduction - Jesus was born to fulfill the promises made to Abraham and David and to save the world as the Christ of God.

Sermon in a Sentence - Jesus offers blessing, leadership, and hope to all who follow him.

The Son of Patriarchs and Kings - Jesus is the cumulation of God's plan to redeem His people.

The Son of David - Jesus is the rightful King of heaven, earth, and our hearts.

The Son of Abraham - Jesus is the cure for the curse, the blessing to all nations, and the Savior of our souls.

Conclusion - Believe in Jesus, submit to his reign, and follow him all your days.

We were blessed to have Andrew Bush, CCM Associate Strategist with Shelby Baptist Association, with us at Macedonia North Baptist Church today!

Andrew first visited MNBC 8 years ago as a summer intern, helping with VBS. Today, he returned to fill in for Bro. Adam while the Armstrong family is out of town for a few days of vacation and rest.

It was such a blessing to welcome Andrew back and hear the message God placed on his heart. We hope you are as blessed by the message as we were!

But whether the message speaks to you in a big way or not, one thing remains true: the Lord has already overcome it all! 🙏❤️

We are thankful for God’s faithfulness, for the opportunity to worship together, and for the people He brings into our lives at just the right time.

Thank you, Andrew, for being with us today and we hope you enjoyed lunch with your Grandmother!

Who Is Like Our God? Studies in Micah - “Though I Sit in Darkness, the Lord Will Be My Light”

Micah 7:8-17

Introduction - Micah proclaimed that although the faithful remnant would sit in darkness under the Lord’s righteous discipline, God would bring them into the light, restore His people, and display His saving power before the nations.

Sermon in a Sentence - When sin brings us into darkness, we must humbly accept the Lord’s discipline and confidently trust the Shepherd who brings His people into the light.

The Lord is Light in the Darkness (vv. 8-10) - Godly repentance accepts the Lord’s discipline without surrendering hope in His restoring grace.

The Lord Restores What Sin Has Ruined (vv. 11-13) - Sin produces desolation, but the Lord is able to gather His people and restore what judgment has broken.

The Shepherd Displays His Saving Power (vv. 14-17) - The Shepherd who delivered His people in the past remains powerful to save, restore, and humble every rival to His rule.

Conclusion - Though we may sit in darkness for a season, the Shepherd who saved us will remain our light and lead us into the fullness of His restored kingdom.

🌎🚗 What an incredible Road Trip - VBS! 🚗🌎

We even had a visit from Abraham and Sarah. We saw the Israelites taking the Scenic Route through the Wilderness and this "Wee-Little Man", Zacchaeus (or was it Zucchini :) ).

Thank you to everyone who joined us today at Macedonia North Baptist Church! We had an amazing morning filled with laughter, games, music, Bible lessons, and lots of fun as we learned that no matter where life's journey takes us, God is always with us!

A huge thank you to all of our volunteers, workers, parents, and everyone who helped make today such a special event. Your love and dedication made this Road Trip one to remember!

We hope everyone had a wonderful time, and we can't wait to see how God continues to work in the lives of these amazing kids.

Who is Like Our God? Studies in Micah - “The Sin That Brings Ruin”
Micah 6:9-16

Introduction - After revealing what He requires, the Lord exposes the sins that have broken His covenant and announces the discipline they deserve.

Sermon in a Sentence - God redeemed His people to walk with Him in covenant faithfulness, but persistent sin brings the loving discipline of the Lord.

The Lord Exposes Sin (vv. 9-12) - God's people cannot walk humbly with Him while practicing injustice, deception, and violence.

The Lord Frustrates False Security (vv. 13-15) - Every false security eventually fails because only the Lord can truly satisfy and sustain His people.

The Lord Reveals the Root of Ruin (v. 16) - We become like the people we follow, so we must walk in God's ways rather than the counsel of the world.

Conclusion - The discipline of sin leads to ruin, but the grace of Christ restores His people to walk with God once again.
