If you are paying a tree service to cut trees on your property, it is that business’ responsibility to dispose of those tree limbs and branches. Remember, you are paying them to perform this job, make sure you are getting your money’s worth and the job is completed.

Memorial Day Holiday Schedule:

The Evangeline Parish Solid Waste Commission office and Dumpster Sites will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2026 in observance of Memorial Day.

Bayou State Waste of Evangeline Parish will run their regularly scheduled routes. Routes will be ran earlier than normal, so please have your garbage out the night before your pick up day.

ATTENTION:

The Ville Platte, Mamou, & Basile Dump Sites will be closed today from 11:00am-1:00pm for a health insurance meeting. These Dump Sites will be back open today at 1:00pm and remain until 5:00pm.

The Evangeline Parish Solid Waste Commission is looking for a Part Time Driver for our grapple trucks. This employee would work around 2-3 days a week and have less than 34 hours on their paycheck.

You must have the following to qualify for the job:

- Class B CDL license
- Drug Screen
- Physical
- Background Check

🐣🌷EASTER SCHEDULE🌻🐰

Evangeline Parish Solid Waste Commission Office and Dumpster Sites will be closed Friday, April 3, 2026 for Good Friday.

The Dumpster Sites will all be opened on Saturday, April 4, 2026 with regular hours. Pine Prairie 8am to 5pm and all other sites 8am to 12pm.

The Pine Prairie Dumpster Site which is usually closed on Wednesdays and opened on Sundays, will be open on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 and they will be closed for Easter Sunday.

There is no change in schedule for regular garbage pickup. Bayou State Waste of Evangeline Parish will be open and their trucks will be running their regular schedule on Good Friday.

The Evangeline Parish Solid Waste Commission office and Dumpster Sites will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026 and Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in observance of President's Day and Mardi Gras.

Bayou State Waste of Evangeline Parish will run their regularly scheduled garbage routes.

Good afternoon, hope everyone is staying warm.

The Evangeline Parish Solid Waste Commission office and dump sites will be open tomorrow. We will be opening a little later to assure the safety of our employees to get to work.

Bayou State Waste of Evangeline Parish will be running their Monday garbage routes. They will start their routes a little later tomorrow for the safety of their men, their equipment, and the public.

The landfill we use to dispose of our trash will also be opening a little later tomorrow to give the roads time to clear for safe traveling.

If your trash gets picked up tomorrow, please have your trash cans out tonight.

All we ask is for your patience, and we promise things will go smoothly.

The Evangeline Parish Solid Waste Commission is monitoring the weather. We will keep you posted through Facebook of any changes we have to our schedule, but as of now, we will be open on Monday and trash will run as normal.

***MARTIN LUTHER KING HOLIDAY SCHEDULE***

The Evangeline Parish Solid Waste Commission office and dumpster sites will be closed Monday, January 19, 2026 for Martin Luther King Day.

However, Bayou State Waste of Evangeline Parish will run their normally scheduled routes throughout the week.

This is the Bayou State Waste of Evangeline Parish collection schedule for the week of Christmas.

They will be closed on Christmas Day, so Thursday's routes will be collected on Friday and Friday's routes will be collected on Saturday. For future updates on trash collection in Evangeline Parish, please like and follow the Bayou State Waste of Evangeline Parish page.

Bayou State will be closed next Thursday, in celebration of Christmas Day. 🎄
