When the historic home of Jeremiah Moore - an early Baptist advocate for religious freedom - was dismantled in 2003, VBC became steward of many bricks from the original house. Plans to reconstruct the home didn't materialize and so the bricks remained on our former property for many years. Today, we are excited to support the initiative of the Town of Vienna, Vienna250, and Scouting America Troop 1539 in salvaging these bricks as they explore a way to commemorate this part of the Town's unique history and connection to our nation's founding.

This week, we are beginning a new series exploring the Lord's Prayer. Many modern Christians recite this prayer by rote memorization but what if we rediscovered what the early church believed was "the perfect prayer"? What if, as John Dominic Crossan suggests, it is "a radical manifesto and a hymn of hope for all humanity"? Join us as we explore the meaning of the prayer for the ancient church and for our church today.

Join us this Sunday as we begin a new sermon series, "Shine Through the Cracks: Wisdom from the Margins." In the season of Epiphany, the light of God is shining through the cracks in the world and illuminating new meaning for our lives.

This week, we'll explore what it means to reclaim our roots as baptized dissenters who boldly challenge the status quo and work for a world of peace and justice for all. We hope to see you at 11:30 am!
