Day 5: Yesterday we woke up and had a delicious breakfast, then headed to the recycling plant where we helped shred old papers and documents to be recycled. We spent some time weeding around one of the CASS buildings, then had lunch. Afterwards we headed back outside to clear up another block of the sidewalk, then had a beautiful concert at Grace Community UMC after dinner and fellowship with their youth and church family! After the concert we went on our annual trip to Sonic for a sweet treat! Thanks, Hal!!

Day 3 and 4 recap:

Yesterday, we started the morning off with breakfast and then organized t-shirts and hygiene products at the World Building, part of Cass Community Social Services. After lunch, we headed outside for some yard work where we cleaned up a whole block of sidewalk! It was awesome! After dinner we had our first Godspeed concert back in the chapel at the Fox Family Center, and it was a beautiful first concert.

This morning we had breakfast at the Fox Family Center and then stayed there to help make and pack sack lunches to feed the community. We made an estimated 900-1000 lunches, which serves lunch to the community for the rest of the week! We’ll have our second concert this afternoon and then head to the Detroit Riverwalk for a fun activity this evening after dinner!

Day 1 & 2 Recap of Choir Tour 2026

Yesterday, we departed Saint Mark and drove to Franklin, TN, where we ate at the famous In-N-Out. We got to meet up with Bennett’s mom, Emily’s mom, and our sweet church puppy, Charlotte, for lunch! We then traveled the rest of the way to Dayton, Ohio, for the night.

This morning, we worshiped at New Hope Church. It was such a special time for all of us, but especially for some of the adults who were there when we served at VBS in 2019. What a full-circle moment!

After church, we traveled the rest of the way to Detroit. We ate dinner at one of Cass Community’s facilities and then made it to our home for the week at Cass UMC.

We’re ready to hit the ground running tomorrow as we begin our service projects. Stay tuned
