🍞 Monday helpers are needed for Food Rescue this summer! 🍞

Each Monday morning, we need two volunteers (ages 18+) to meet our Food Bank truck at the Bimbo Bakeries distribution center in Pelham from 9-10 a.m. to help load bread and snacks. 🚚

This food will be shared with our neighbors all week long!

To sign up for a Monday this summer, please use this link: https://tinyurl.com/Weekday-Food-Rescue.

Thank you! 🍩🤎

Every Tuesday morning, an amazing group comes together to set up the Hub Market and prepare for the Tuesday afternoon Food Share distribution, which serves an average of 675 households each week.

One Outreach Hub volunteer said about the impact of this work: “People who come through Food Share really express their appreciation and state how important this food is to them.”

Another said, “Helping people with something so basic as food – or helping them help others – is perhaps the definition of having an impact on people’s lives and the community.”

We are so grateful for this team, their warmth, and what they do each week!

Our hardworking Hub garden team led a special activity on Monday night – digging potatoes!

Kids exclaimed "Wow!" as they helped pull big potatoes out of the dirt, and they excitedly discussed how they wanted to prepare them at home. They cleaned and bagged their potatoes, then picked some ripe cherry tomatoes. It was precious to see some of the little ones hugging their bags the rest of the night, and they were so proud to show them to their parents after class.

Garden team, thank you so much for this fun and educational activity! 🥔🍅

We'd like to say a big thank you to the Ahava Sunday school class for serving such a great dinner at the Hub on Monday! This group's kindness was the perfect way to welcome our neighbors for an evening of ESOL. 🍗

On Tuesday mornings, the Hub Store is always bustling with merchandise intake, sorting, hanging, and organizing – plus lots of smiles and laughter.

One volunteer says what she believes contributes to the success of this program: “The absolute kindness, respect for others, good heart in each volunteer. It is such a positive place.”

The volunteers pictured are just some of the wonderful people who spend their Tuesday mornings setting up the Hub Store for our shoppers!

The Food Share distribution team serves with “a spirit of joy that is contagious,” as one of our volunteers describes it, at the Outreach Hub’s drive-thru food pantry. She says, “The people I meet each week are doing their best to get by in a world that feels hard. Loading their cars up with food that they will then take to their families and neighbors to make meals together feels to me like a concrete way to strengthen my community.”

These photos represent just some of our dedicated Food Share volunteers – we are so grateful for every person who participates in this ministry!

The Monday morning Market team always starts our week with energy and purpose as they prepare the Hub Market for our grocery shoppers and Food Share guests.

When we asked what folks most enjoy most about volunteering, one common theme was fellowship. One said, “Getting to interact with the other volunteers. Great people.” Another said, “It’s so great to come to a job where everyone loves working together to do good things.”

We are so thankful for this dynamic team!
