Welcome Grace! God's sovereignty over time. Luther emphasized that God "changes the times and the seasons" (Daniel 2:21), removing and setting up rulers, and bringing about new things. For him, this meant that no human season is permanent; God is always at work, even in times of hardship. Isaiah 43:19's promise of "a new thing" resonated with Luther's hope that God is constantly making new ways and blessings possible. Rev./Dr. Martin Luther - 1541

"Whoever sees Christ as a minor of the Father's heart, actually walks through the world with new eyes. But, if we remove Christ from the Scriptures and there is nothing left. Prayer is a very precious medicine, one that certainly helps and never fails, if you will only use it." Rev./Dr. Martin Luther - 1541

Welcome to Grace! How many times have you faced barriers in your life? In today's sermon, Pastor Dorow helps us understand more from our Gospel lesson, Matthew 16: 21-28. In this passage Jesus tells the disciples that he must suffer many great things, be killed, and will rise after His death. The Apostle Peter rebukes him telling the Lord, this shall never happen to you. Jesus responds, "Get behind me, Satan! You are a hinderance to me. For you are not setting your mind on things of God, but on the things of man." Peter was crushed by these strong words from Jesus, yet we learn from St Peter, we cannot exert authority over God. Let's listen and learn more.

Welcome to Grace! Why does a merciful God allow bad things to happen to good people? No one is righteous and without sin, yet even people viewed by others as good people experience suffering. As we learn from the life of Job, God will use suffering to lead to repentence and draw us closer to Him.
