The celebration of the Eucharist is the most profound experience we have in our Catholic faith: receiving Jesus Christ, who offered His own body and blood for us. The opportunity for this intimate moment with our loving Savior requires a most significant responsibility as well. As members of the Body of Christ, our participation in the Eucharistic celebration means we have an obligation to care for the other members of the body because we are the hands and feet of Jesus. At the end of Mass we are sent on a mission. Our mission is to go out and share the Good News.

Thank you to Fr. Prior for all you do for our parish and Diocese. We are blessed!

Today, we joyfully celebrate the 25th Anniversary to the Priesthood for our Director of Seminarian Formation, Father Richard Prior!

Over the last 25 years, Father Prior has faithfully accompanied and guided many young men discerning God's call to the priesthood. Through his leadership, encouragement, wisdom, and witness of joyful priestly service, he has been a tremendous role model and influence for many of our seminarians and an unwavering supporter of vocations throughout our diocese.

We are deeply grateful for Father Prior's faithful service to Christ and His Church and for the many lives he has touched along the way.

Please join us in congratulating Father Prior and praying for him as he continues his ministry. Ad multos annos!

The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity is a day to recall how we are invited to know, love and serve God, who reveals the fullness of love to us and challenges us to be changed by it. In today's First Reading from Exodus, Moses describes God as being slow to anger and abounding in love. In the Second Reading, St. Paul encourages the Corinthians to reconcile with one another in order to live in unity and peace. The Gospel from St. John contains one of the most well known verses in all of scripture. St. John roots our salvation in God's love for us. We are reminded that God gave us His only Son, not to condemn the world, but that the world may be saved through Him.

Our readings today remind us that we are counter-cultural. In these days when some doubt and even reject the existence of God, we confess the very mystery of God. In these days, when some experience no further need for God, we acknowledge the mystery of God that grounds our being, the mystery without which we cannot exist. Aware that God is always greater than what we can know and understand, we praise God in the beautiful words of today's Responsorial Psalm, taken from the canticle found in the Book of the prophet Daniel, "Blessed are you...praiseworthy and exalted above all forever."
