This past Friday, our 5th and 6th grade students led All-School Mass, including a special visit from many wonderful grandparents! 🫶

"God is great, God is good, let us thank him for our grandparents." 💙💛

Today, St. Mary's Royals celebrated Grandparents Day and what a beautiful morning it was! Grandparents were able to join us for morning prayer and announcements in the hallway, Mass, treats and photo ops in the school gym, followed by an extended outdoor recess. It seems we grew in attendance this year, which is very fitting as we are blessed with new leadership with Principal Patrick and Father Hunyor.

We are excited to celebrate our Virtue Student of the Month for the month of August, Elliotte Williamson🦁

Elliotte was selected to be recognized on our schoolwide Virtue Board for demonstrating the virtue of Orderliness. Throughout the month of August, students who were recognized for putting our virtues into practice had their names placed on the Virtue Board and were entered into a drawing. The winner of the drawing receives a special prize—a movie pass from the Van Wert Cinema! We are excited to make this a monthly reward, so stay tuned as we celebrate more of our wonderful Virtue Students of the Month throughout the school year! 💙💛

Elliotte and her entire family will enjoy a month-long family pass to the Van Wert Cinema! We are incredibly grateful to the Van Wert Cinema for partnering with St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic School and helping us celebrate and encourage our students as they grow in virtue. We are so proud of all of our students who are striving each day to live out the virtues we are learning together! 🎥🍿

Miss Miller’s Kindergarten class focused on the theme of sharing this week! 🦁🫶

The class read the story of The Rainbow Fish and made a special craft: their very own Rainbow Fish, each with one shimmering scale to represent how the Rainbow Fish learned to share with others!🌈🐠

In Social Studies, they learned all about rules and why they are important. The students put their learning into action while playing Chutes and Ladders and practicing how to follow the rules and take turns!

They also learned that God made each of them different and that no two people were created the same! The students drew self-portraits and noticed the unique differences that make each of them special because they were all made in God’s image and likeness! 🎨

And the class had a very special moment today… one of their friends lost a tooth! The students were so excited to share in this experience and celebrate with her! 🦷

What a wonderful week of learning, sharing, celebrating our differences, and making memories!
