Group – today, September 6, is the Twenty-third Sunday in Ordinary Time. In today’s Second Reading, St. Paul tells us:

The commandments, "You shall not commit adultery;
you shall not kill; you shall not steal; you shall not covet, "
and whatever other commandment there may be,
are summed up in this saying, namely,
"You shall love your neighbor as yourself." - Romans 13:9

Right before, St. Paul writes:

"Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another; for the one who loves has fulfilled the law." - Romans 13:8

Every commandment, every rule, every "should" in our life as Christians comes down to this one debt we can never fully repay: love.

Not a feeling, but a choice we make again and again — for our families, our neighbors, even the people who test our patience.

This week, is there a debt of love you've been putting off paying? A call to make, a grudge to release, a kindness to offer?

Maybe we should take time to fix that.

Group - today, August 30, is the Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time.

"O God, you are my God whom I seek; for you my flesh pines and my soul thirsts like the earth, parched, lifeless and without water." — Psalm 63:5

Today we pray this Psalm alongside Jeremiah's honest wrestling with his call and Jesus' hard words to Peter: whoever wishes to save his life must first lose it for Christ's sake.

Real discipleship isn't always comfortable — sometimes it feels like a fire we can't hold in, or a cross we didn't ask to carry. But like the Psalmist in the desert, our thirst points us back to the only One who satisfies.

Wherever this week has left us parched, may we bring that thirst to the Lord this Sunday.

Group - Today's Gospel brings us to a pivotal moment: Jesus asks His disciples, "Who do you say that I am?" Peter answers with the faith that will become the rock on which the Church is built: "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

In response, Jesus entrusts Peter with the keys of the kingdom — a sign of authority handed down through the papacy to this very day, from Peter to our Holy Father now.

But this Gospel isn't only about Peter. It's an invitation to each of us: who do we say Jesus is? Our answer shapes how we live, love, and serve this week.

May we, like Peter, have the courage to profess our faith boldly — even when we don't yet understand everything it will ask of us.

Group - Today's Psalm prays, "O God, let all the nations praise you!" — a fitting refrain alongside the Gospel, where a Canaanite woman's bold faith moves Jesus to say, "great is your faith." God's mercy was never meant to stay within one people; it was always headed for every doorstep.

May God's face shine on us this week — and may we be the ones who carry that light to someone who needs it.
