Zion Lutheran School began in September of 1943, and presently serves children in third through the eighth grade. Zion Lutheran Pre-school began in September of 1998, and presently serves children ages three to five. Both are maintained and supported by Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, a member congregation of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod. Control and supervision of the school is exer
cised by the voting membership through its Church Council, Elders, and the Board of Christian Education. Zion Lutheran School offers Christian education for students in grades 3-8. Classes offered are: Religion, Saxon Math, Reading, English, Spelling, Physical Education, Art, Music, Science, and Social Studies. Zion Lutheran students can participate with Valentine Middle School sports in 6th-8th grade. Students also put on plays and forensic presentations, along with a Christmas program at Zion Lutheran Church. Zion is part of the NE district of WELS schools, and is apart of the Nebraska Lutheran High School Associations of Schools and is “Our High School”. Sarah Dewey - Preschool
Zion Lutheran Pre-school:
3 Year olds: 3 options (M, T; W, Th; M-Th) 8:30-11:30 A.M.
4 Year olds: M-F 12:30-3:30 P.M. Bible lessons are taught daily to teach the children about their Savior and what he has done for them. Zion Lutheran Church was founded in 1937, and currently located at 223 N. Services are Sunday at 10 A.M. Sunday School for children age PreK-8 begins at 9 A.M. and begins the Sunday after Labor Day through Mother's day. Adult bible study is also offered before the 10 A.M. service starting at 9 A.M.
