Sometimes the most important thing an FCN can do is make a connection.

We don’t have to solve every problem—we can listen, recognize needs, connect people with trusted resources, and follow up.

We don't have to have all the answers—but we can know where to find them. In everyday encounters, FCNs often hear about needs that go beyond what we can provide ourselves. Knowing our community resources, making thoughtful referrals, and following up can turn a simple conversation into a meaningfu...

Exciting news for Faith Community Nursing!

The National Uniform Claim Committee (NUCC) has approved a nationally recognized definition of Community Health Nursing—a significant step forward in recognizing Faith Community Nursing as part of community-based nursing practice.

This recognition strengthens the visibility and credibility of FCNs and supports future efforts toward legislative recognition and sustainable reimbursement.

The definition will be published January 1, 2027, and available for use April 1, 2027.

A landmark achievement for community health nursing—and an important step forward for FCNs!

When was the last time you checked in on the men in your life, not just to ask how they're doing, but how they're really doing?

June is Men's Health Month, a reminder that many men put their health on the back burner. Whether it's skipping annual checkups, ignoring symptoms, or avoiding difficult conversations about mental health, the consequences can be significant.

The good news? Small actions can make a big difference.

Faith Community Nurses can help create a culture where health conversations are welcomed, preventive care is encouraged, and men feel supported in taking steps toward better health.

To help congregations and communities get started, the Indiana Center for Parish Nursing has developed a Men's Health Toolkit with practical resources, education materials, and ideas for outreach and engagement.

This June, let's encourage the men in our families, congregations, and communities to make their health a priority.

The Power of Nurses 💙
Nurses bring strength, compassion, wisdom, and hope to every space they enter. We advocate, comfort, heal, and care for others during life’s most vulnerable moments.
The power of nursing is not only in what we do but in how we make people feel seen, safe, and cared for.
Happy Nurses Week to all who serve with skill, courage, and heart nurses
