Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Tuscaloosa

Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Tuscaloosa We are a community of faith that honors diversity in religious thought and practice. Come join us.

We gather each Sunday to celebrate the things that inspire us to personal and spiritual growth: a caring and committed community, the words of prophets both ancient and modern, free and inquisitive minds, nurturing families, good friends. We partner with the Unitarian Universalist Church of Birmingham and often share their church service (with our own special touches).

Having needs doesn't automatically make you "Needy".

We all need care.
We all need comfort.
We all need attention.
We all need to be validated.
We all need to be heard.
We all deserve to be loved.

Those are all normal parts of being human.

It's my honor to announce that the recipients of the 2026 Volunteer Service Award are Minnesota Unitarian Universalists, for their tremendous dedication and faithful commitment to justice in organizing UUs from around the country to join in training, worship, and historic anti-ICE protests last January. We are grateful for their activism, community care, and resistance ministry.

The Volunteer Service Award will be given to Minnesota UUs during General Assembly, as part of the General Session on Tuesday, June 16. Please join us in celebrating at GA. Learn more and register at the link in the comments below.

"It is very sad to me that some people are so intent on leaving their mark on the world that they don't care if that mark is a scar."

On this Memorial Day, let us be ever mindful of the high cost of war as we honor the dedication and courage of military service members and their families. I offer my deep gratitude to all who have served and are currently serving in all branches of the military.

As Unitarian Universalists work and witness for peace and justice in ourselves and in our wider world, may we continue to recognize and uplift the humanity of military service members and their families. On this day and in all the days, may you know that you are loved and not forgotten.

What’s one piece of advice that’s made a lasting difference in your life? 💛

Maybe it’s something simple you come back to often. Something that helped you through a hard season, changed the way you relate to others, or reminded you what really matters.

Share a piece of advice that’s stayed with you—you never know who might need to hear it today.

“I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.”
