Each of us must live our individual lives in the context of our surroundings and culture. I do believe that God determined the times in which we live as well as our geographical location (Acts 17:26). I do not know, nor have I ever met, anyone who has a “perfect” life free of occasional challenges and difficulties. It is not so much a matter what we are called upon to face but how we choose to face it. I love the 11th chapter of Hebrews which gives us account of what is sometimes called the “Hall of Fame” of faith. Each of those individual were ordinary men and women who live extraordinary lives through faith and obedience to God. Each faced their own individual circumstances by simply taking God at His Word and walking it out in their lives, sometime imperfectly, in relationship to Him. Our lives will not encounter the exact tests, problems, joys, or victories as theirs but we can learn from and follow their faith. Hebrews 13:7-8 Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (NIV). It is good to follow the faith of those whose way of life leads to Jesus Christ, the matchless and unchanging Lord of Glory. Your life matters to those you touch every day. You must choose for that impact to point others to Christ.

Have you ever considered that at conception, a single cell from the mother and a single cell from the father unites into one cell with a full complement of 23 chromosomes. All the information for the complete formation of a person is there. Psalms 139 says that God know us even in that initial stage. Now, consider that the single cell that was formed at conception begins to grow and multiply and in 280 days goes from a single cell to over 17 Billion cells when the baby is born. From conception each child is know by our Heavenly Father, who has a purpose for each life. I don’t know about you, but I can not vote for any who champions murder of the unborn even up to the time of birth. It can be called any euphemistic name you want, it is still murder.

Jesus went about doing good and healing (curing, making whole, delivering) all that were oppressed of the devil (Acts 10:38). Because I believe the Word of God, I believe that healing is a good thing and is the will of God. Jesus is the same in His character and purpose now as He was when He walked physically on the earth (Hebrews 13:8). As Jesus is, so are we to be in this world (1 John 4:17). We need to seek the anointing of God that we can touch the lives of those that are being oppressed by the devil and set them free. The disciples once asked Jesus why they could not cast an evil spirit out of a boy and Jesus simply said, “because of your unbelief” (Matthew 17:20). The answer is the same today.

It is so important that we think clearly and accurately about the way we conduct our lives. Matthew 10:31 tells us that we are indeed more valuable than the sparrows (fowls of the air) and it is implied that we can expect that the Heavenly Father will take care of us. I do realize that birds do not plant nor reap; they do not store food up in barns and God takes care of them (Matthew 6:26). But I have noticed something. If you watch birds they are always foraging for their food. They do not sit on a limb and expect seed to fall into their beaks. They don’t just hang out until the worm jumps out of the ground and into their mouths. Birds are busy. That speaks to me. Yes, God will take care of me and my family but I am expected to do my part. I seek Him, His Kingdom and righteousness and He will add to me. He will bless the work of my hands so that I can provide for my family. Scripture says plainly if any will not work, they should not eat (2 Thessalonians 3:10) Not only that but Ephesians 4:28 tells us we are to work so that we will have something to give. It is a beautiful thing to not only take care of your own needs but to give to worthy causes. We must trust God and seek Him realizing that it is He that will give us the strength to work. He blesses our provisions. May the Lord bless and prosper the work of your hands today. Take sometime this weekend to rest and enjoy the Lord. He will put fresh wind in your sails.

I first posted this in 2020. Decided to post it again.
I believe in Jesus! I believe He is the Son of God, conceived and born from the womb of Mary when she was a virgin. I believe that though He became flesh and blood so that He could be tempted every way that I am, He lived a sinless life. I believe that when He died on that brutal cross it was not any sin He had done but for mine. He was buried. I believe that He was raised from the dead on the third day and has ascended to the Father. I believe that He sent the precious Holy Spirit to be with me and in me to empower me to live for Him. I believe that He is coming again to catch the church away like a thief in the night. I believe that after the seven year Tribulation, He will set up His millennial reign (1,000 yrs.) on earth and that I will reign with Him. I believe that after that He will execute His final judgement in which Satan, demons, the Antichrist, the False Prophet, the Beast, and all who rejected salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ, death and Hell will be cast into the Lake of Fire for eternal torment separated from God - the second death. I believe there will be a new heaven and a new earth and that the Heavenly Jerusalem will be brought down to the new earth and that I and all who have been born again and overcome by faith in Jesus Christ will live with Him eternally. Fear would have you live in anticipation of failure and the negative. Living always waiting for the “other shoe to drop”. The Lord would have you to live in expectation of His goodness and His help. He clearly says in Hebrews 11:6b …”He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”NKJV. It is our Father’s nature to bless! Many of the blessings that flow to us are clearly undeserved; but, it gives Him pleasure to bless His children. Unless you are living in open rebellion to Him, look for His blessing. Live, love, and laugh openly and freely. Choose to believe its going to be a good, good day because you have a good, good Father
