Going Through
Each of us encounter life challenges that can seem insurmountable and overwhelming, but the word that has come to me from the Lord most recently is the word “through.” Let’s keep our eyes on the One who is faithful…the One who walks with us as we go through these circumstances of life on this earth.
”Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no danger because you are with me. Your rod and your staff— they protect me.“
â€â€Psalms‬ â€23‬:â€4‬ â€CEB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
”When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; when through the rivers, they won’t sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you won’t be scorched and flame won’t burn you.“
â€â€Isaiah‬ â€43‬:â€2‬ â€CEB‬‬‬‬‬‬‬
Here’s a poem that resonates with my spirit -
Not Down, But Through (By Annie Johnson Flint)
“When Thou passest through the waters,"
Deep the waves may be and cold,
But Jehovah is our refuge,
And his promise is our hold;
For the Lord himself has said it,
He, the faithful God and true;
"When you come to the waters
You will not go down, but through."
Seas of sorrow, Seas of trial,
Bitter anguish, fiercest pain,
Rolling surges of temptation
Sweeping over heart and brain...
They will never overflow us
For we know His work is true;
All His waves and all His billows
He will lead us safely through.
Threatening breakers of destruction,
Doubt's insidious undertow,
Will not sink us, will not drag us
Out to ocean depths of woe;
For His promise will sustain us,
Praise the Lord, whose word is true!
We will not go down, or under,
For He says, "You will pass through."
