Join us this Sunday at 10:00 AM at Welborne UMC for the conclusion of our Voices series. We are hosting guest speaker Janelle Washington (), a paper-cut artist, author, and Caldecott Honoree. She received the Coretta Scott King Illustrator Honor for Choosing Brave: How Mamie Till-Mobley and Emmett Till Sparked the Civil Rights Movement, using cut paper and silhouette to document history, identity, and resilience.

During the service, artist Abby Bland (Abernathy Bland ) will interview Janelle on art, hospitality, and creating a table of welcome. Following worship, copies of Janelle’s books will be available for purchase in the narthex. All are welcome, and we hope to see you there.

This Sunday in our Voices guest speaker series, we welcome Richard Voelz to Welborne UMC. Rich will be preaching from Isaiah 58:11–12 and sharing about the vital work of the Faithful Resistance Action Network - an ecumenical movement committing us to spiritual, community, and justice formation as repairers of the breach in a time of ongoing injustice.

It is also Back to School Sunday! Bring your backpacks to worship for a special blessing as we kick off the new school year. Afterward, stick around for a visit from the Mister Softee ice cream truck to help melt away those back-to-school scaries. Join us this Sunday morning for a powerful message and some ice cream.
