Journey Church

Journey Church We are here for you. Love God. Love God’s Word. Love God’s Family. Love God’s World. Louis) and we believe strongly in relationship instead of religion.

Journey Church is a non-denominational Christian church located in Troy, Missouri (outside of St. Who we are:

First, let's get this out in the open - Journey Church is NOT going to offer you that typical church experience (stand up, sing, sit down, give money, hear the preacher, stand up, shake hands, hug a baby, give more money, head to car with family, go home.) Journey is very 'unpredictable'

when it comes to our services because we serve a very 'unpredictable' God (and that's what will impress most people about us - we don't believe God wants us to do a lot of the same stuff over and over and over again every week - we put a lot of prayer into what He wants us to do when it comes to church and we do it, simple. While some tradition is good, a lot of it can bring stagnation and put us into a routine that can make on very 'religious' and 'churchy' and that's a big "OH NO YOU DIDN'T!" ...we think outside of the box with our style while at the same time NOT compromising our beliefs or our standards in God, His Word (or with how we do church.) The concept of Journey Church began with God tapping our Pastor on the shoulder and really moving on him to start a church that reaches EVERYONE. A church that can't be labeled...a church that cannot be described - only experienced. One of the biggest turnoffs to anyone when it comes to church is that there seems to be a lot of 'judgement-al-ism' (is that a word?) spread around to anyone who doesn't pray 25 hours in a day, read the entire bible in 2 weeks, and live holier than Jesus (is that really possible?) Journey Church strives to be exactly the opposite - we exist to accept anyone with any problems without worrying about someone passing judgment on you. We know life is tough MOST OF THE TIME and that's why we want to be there for you. Heck, that's why we called ourselves 'Journey Church' - to meet you right where you are in your journey of life - good or bad.

What if failing isn’t the biggest risk? What if it’s never taking the step at all? Peter stepped out of the boat knowing he could sink, but his willingness to take the risk put him somewhere the other disciples never went. **Faith doesn’t remove the risk. It gives you a reason to take it.**

This Sunday, we're confronting the fear that keeps us safely in the boat and trusting Jesus enough to move when He says, “Come.” You might get wet. You might even stumble. But failure can still move you closer to Jesus, while some of our greatest regrets come from the steps we were too afraid to take.

See you Sunday.

What does it take to amaze Jesus? Scripture records two things that caused Jesus to marvel: extraordinary faith and extraordinary unbelief. This Sunday, Pastor Eddie Freeman challenged us with a question: When Jesus looks at our lives, which one does He see?

Faith is not confidence in an outcome. Faith is confidence in His authority.

So what has Jesus already said that we're still trying to negotiate? What have we allowed our circumstances, experiences, feelings, or understanding to convince us God can't do?

Let's be people with faith for the impossible. God said it. I believe it. That settles it.

This Sunday, we’re talking about a faith that stops negotiating with what God has already said. Faith isn’t confidence that everything will turn out exactly how we want. It’s confidence in His authority. What might we be missing because we’ve allowed doubt to have the final word?

Join us Sunday as we challenge our faith and learn to trust what God has spoken.

Our kids shouldn’t have to get hurt before we decide to prepare them.

We have the opportunity right now to give the next generation something stronger than the pressures they’ll face. Hope. Character. Leadership. Truth. And most importantly, a real relationship with Jesus.

We’re not a people of then. We’re a people of NOW.

NexGen is about intentionally investing in kids and students while they’re listening, learning, and becoming who God created them to be. Because they’re not “just kids.” The Kingdom of God belongs to them.

Want to help us fight for the future of the next generation?

👉 Join us for our upcoming Journey Kids Foundation Meeting and discover how you can use your gifts, passion, and influence to make an eternal difference in the lives of kids and students.

Their future is worth our best.

Our kids are stepping into another school year filled with new teachers, friendships, influences, opportunities, and challenges. And while the world is ready to speak into their lives, the Church can't afford to be casual about doing the same.

This Back to School Sunday, we looked at the story of Joash and the people of God who surrounded him, protected him, and prepared him for the future God had for his life.

That's our calling, too.

Let's be a church that doesn't just have kids, but is for kids. A faith family that serves them, shows them what following Jesus looks like, and covers them in prayer.

We can't let the world win the race to the hearts of our kids.

This Sunday is Back to School Sunday, and we’re taking time to invest in and pray over the next generation. We’ll talk about what it means to surround our kids with faith, character, wisdom, and a relationship with God before they face whatever life sends their way.

Plus, Journey Youth will be leading us in worship, and we’ll have a special opportunity during service for families to pray together as we head into a new school year. 🎒🙏 They’re not “just kids.” Their future is worth showing up for.

Storms don't always mean you've done something wrong. ⛈️

This Sunday, Pastor Ron Garner reminded us through Matthew 14 that the disciples found themselves in a storm while doing exactly what Jesus told them to do. But they weren't abandoned there. Jesus met them in the middle of it.

The storms we face can reveal our faith, expose where we've been relying on ourselves, and ultimately give us a clearer picture of who God is. Whatever you're walking through today, don't become so focused on the storm that you lose sight of Jesus.

"Eyes on self will sink you, but eyes on Jesus saves you."
