Journey Church

Journey Church We are here for you. Love God. Love God’s Word. Love God’s Family. Love God’s World. Louis) and we believe strongly in relationship instead of religion.

Journey Church is a non-denominational Christian church located in Troy, Missouri (outside of St. Who we are:

First, let's get this out in the open - Journey Church is NOT going to offer you that typical church experience (stand up, sing, sit down, give money, hear the preacher, stand up, shake hands, hug a baby, give more money, head to car with family, go home.) Journey is very 'unpredictable'

when it comes to our services because we serve a very 'unpredictable' God (and that's what will impress most people about us - we don't believe God wants us to do a lot of the same stuff over and over and over again every week - we put a lot of prayer into what He wants us to do when it comes to church and we do it, simple. While some tradition is good, a lot of it can bring stagnation and put us into a routine that can make on very 'religious' and 'churchy' and that's a big "OH NO YOU DIDN'T!" ...we think outside of the box with our style while at the same time NOT compromising our beliefs or our standards in God, His Word (or with how we do church.) The concept of Journey Church began with God tapping our Pastor on the shoulder and really moving on him to start a church that reaches EVERYONE. A church that can't be labeled...a church that cannot be described - only experienced. One of the biggest turnoffs to anyone when it comes to church is that there seems to be a lot of 'judgement-al-ism' (is that a word?) spread around to anyone who doesn't pray 25 hours in a day, read the entire bible in 2 weeks, and live holier than Jesus (is that really possible?) Journey Church strives to be exactly the opposite - we exist to accept anyone with any problems without worrying about someone passing judgment on you. We know life is tough MOST OF THE TIME and that's why we want to be there for you. Heck, that's why we called ourselves 'Journey Church' - to meet you right where you are in your journey of life - good or bad.

This Sunday in *The Apostle Paul. Persecutor to Pioneer.*, we’re asking a simple but deeply challenging question: Does God really have your “yes”? It’s easy to say yes to God when the outcome looks like blessing, favor, or breakthrough. But what happens when the answer to your prayer comes disguised as an assignment, a delay, or a step of faith you didn’t expect?

Paul reminds us that God’s promises are still “yes” in Christ, even when we don’t fully understand the path in front of us. Join us this Sunday as we talk about trusting God enough to obey before you have all the details, and discovering what can happen when surrender stops being conditional.

See you at 8:15, 9:30, and 11:00 AM.

You can be sincere and still be wrong. You can love Scripture and still miss the Savior those Scriptures are about.

The Apostle Paul's story reminds us that no one is too far from God's grace. Before his transformation, Paul was the church's greatest enemy. Yet on the road to Damascus, Jesus knocked him off his high horse. Not to punish him, but to humble him.

Here's the truth: Sometimes grace shows up in the form of a fall. God will strip away false confidences so He can build true faith. Salvation doesn't start when you have all the answers. It begins when you ask the right question: "Who are you, Lord?" That's when certainty ends and transformation begins. Pride can disguise itself as conviction, but humility holds convictions without losing grace for others.

What high horse do you need to fall off of today? Jesus loves you too much to leave you there.

"Father, today we pause with grateful hearts to thank You for the gift of freedom, a freedom that was never free. We honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in sacrifice to defend the liberties we hold today, and we do not take that sacrifice lightly. Your Word says there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for a friend, and today we remember and honor those who did exactly that. Lord, we pray especially for every Gold Star family across this nation. Would You draw near to the brokenhearted and surround them with the comfort, peace, and strength of Heaven. Let them feel Your presence in a real and personal way today. And Father, lead us as Your Church to be a source of prayer, encouragement, support, and compassion to those carrying the weight of loss. We thank You for the men and women whose courage helped make this nation the land of the free because it is home of the brave. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen."

This Sunday in The Apostle Paul - Persecutor to Pioneer, we’re talking about the moment Saul got knocked off his high horse on the road to Damascus. Because sometimes the greatest obstacle between us and God isn’t rebellion. It’s pride dressed up as conviction. Saul thought he was defending truth while actively fighting against Jesus Himself.

Maybe you’ve ever had a season where what once gave you confidence suddenly stopped working. Where striving left you exhausted, prayers felt heavy, or the version of yourself you built no longer satisfied you. Acts 9 reminds us that sometimes losing your sight is the very thing that finally helps you see. Join us Sunday as we look at how Jesus meets proud people, strips away false confidence, and builds something real in its place.

See you Sunday at 8:15, 9:30, and 11:00 AM

What if the problem isn’t that you need to try harder… but that you were never meant to row in the first place?

This weekend’s message with Pastor Doug reminded us that Christianity without the Holy Spirit becomes dry, exhausting, and powerless. God never called us to strive our way into purpose, freedom, or relationship with Him.

You don’t need “rowboat religion.”
You need the wind of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit comforts, convicts, guides, empowers, and draws us into deeper relationship with Jesus. He’s not just a force to experience. He’s a person to know.

“Don’t be God beside me. Be God inside of me.”
