While the chaos of the lobby is… well, just that, chaotic, it’s also one of the best parts of worship.

We call this fellowship: the gathering of Believers simply to be together. And it’s common, literally every weekend, to see families and friends gathered in prayer, hear loud laughter echoing around every corner, and watch people greet one another with welcoming hugs.

These little intersections between services may seem ordinary, but they’re some of the sweetest parts of church life. And while we can’t wait to step into our new building, a space with more room and even more opportunities to connect, we hope we never lose the beautiful, sometimes-chaotic fellowship that happens in the lobby. 🤍

This weekend, we worship together as we continue learning more about the Ten Commandments and how, ultimately, the Lord saw fit to bring fulfillment, not through the law, but through His perfect Son, Jesus Christ.

Pray about your surrender. Pray that the Lord would draw you to HIM as we search the Scriptures together, that we might see more clearly our need for Christ and the perfection of His finished work!

What if the Ten Commandments were never meant to be just a list of rules? What if they were the words of a Father who sees down the road and desires to protect the freedom of His children?

It may seem counter-cultural. At first glance, the commandments can look like limitations... and, in a sense, they are. But what if those limitations are actually the boundaries that lead us toward true freedom?

The law that Jesus fulfilled was never meant to be the thing that saves us. Instead, it reveals the character of God, exposes our need for a Savior, and ultimately points us to Christ. True freedom isn’t found in living without boundaries. It’s found in surrendering to the One who knows what is best.

Not MY will, but His.

What's the difference between Christianity and all other religions?

Jesus.

It seems like a “duh” answer, but truly, He is our foundation. If there isn’t Christ, there isn’t anything. And praise the Lord that we depend on Him, because in our fallen human nature, we are incapable of redeeming ourselves. We do not need a high priest, another human, to forgive us of our sins. We have a greater High Priest: Jesus Christ, who offered Himself as the once-for-all sacrifice for our sin.

Hebrews 4:14–16 says:

“Since then we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

Jesus is our High Priest, our mediator, and our redemption.

And praise God--we get to draw near to Him because of Christ! HE is who we sing worship songs to, and Him alone!

It’s only possible to truly serve others as Jesus did if you are in Christ. We were created for good works, but it is only through His blood that our works are redeemed.

“Servant” written across her shirt declares what is true of her life... not because of the water, but because she belongs to her Savior. Like Christ, she is called to go and serve others, just as He did for His children!

We are so thankful for the work the Lord is doing in and through our church, and we look forward to celebrating more steps of obedience through baptism. What a joy to know that the Lord is drawing His children to Himself!

This week we explored how the Ten Commandments are not soap to scrub away your sin--they are a mirror to reveal it. And only Jesus can make you clean. As Matthew 5:17 reminds us, he did not come to abolish the law but to fulfill it. Everything we fail to be, Jesus perfectly was.

We look forward to continuing through the Ten Commandments, further exploring how they ultimately point us to the finished work of Christ! We’ll see you this weekend at NorthRoad!

This weekend, we started a new series on the Ten Commandments! 🙌

We’re praying for how the Lord will use this series to shape and transform you. The Ten Commandments aren’t like soap--they don’t wash us clean. They’re a mirror, revealing our sin and pointing us to our need for Christ, who was promised and who would come in the flesh.
