I thought some of our congregation would want to know. Prayers for her family and those she served as pastor.
We, the Pastors, Staff, and members of the Saint Mark Church Family, pause with heavy hearts and deep gratitude as we remember the life and legacy of Rose Booker-Jones, a powerful, Spirit-filled servant of God and former Associate Pastor of Saint Mark United Methodist Church.
Before she was appointed to serve within the Illinois Great Rivers Conference, Dr. Booker-Jones blessed Saint Mark with her prophetic preaching, pastoral wisdom, and unwavering faith. She was more than an Associate Pastor, she was a pastor to pastors, a steady and trusted voice, and a mentor to countless women in ministry.
She carried joy into rooms, peace into conflict, clarity into confusion, and grace into every sacred space she entered. Her presence was strong yet gentle; her leadership firm yet compassionate; her spirit deeply rooted in prayer.
Throughout her ministry, from parish leadership to district superintendency, she served Christ and His Church with distinction, reconciliation, and a non-anxious presence that reflected the very heart of God.
Missing her is indescribable. Yet we rejoice in the promise that those who serve the Lord so faithfully now rest in Him.
Rest, Dearest Pastor Rose, in God’s peace, power, and promise.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
We hold her family, colleagues, and all who loved her in our prayers.
2 Timothy 4:7-8
Take your eternal rest, our dear Sister, well-done!
