Sept 6th Sunday Service starting soon! - https://mailchi.mp/uucgt.org/sunday-services-is-starting-soon-1493 During this service, we will explore the true nature of blindness and challenge commonly held public myths about this disability through an autobiographical telling of key stories from the life of our new interim Minister Dan Frye. These stories position blindness and low vision within a social and civil-rights context rather than primarily through a medical or disability-oriented lens.

“Beginnings often frighten us because they seem like lonely voyages into the unknown. Yet, in truth, no beginning is empty or isolated. We seem to think that beginning is a setting out from a lonely point along some line of direction into the unknown. This is not the case. Shelter and energy come alive when a beginning is embraced… We are never as alone in our beginnings as it might seem at the time. A beginning is ultimately an invitation to open towards the gifts and growth that are stored up for us.” John O’Donohue,

"I believe that we are in an imagination battle, and almost everything about how we orient toward our bodies is shaped by fearful imaginations. Imaginations that fear blackness, brownness, fatness, queerness, disability, difference.
Our radical imagination is a tool for decolonization, for reclaiming our right to shape our lived reality." - Adrienne Maree Brown, Pleasure Activism: The Politics of Feeling Good.

Come Sunday to hear an exploration of the true nature of blindness and challenge commonly held public myths about this disability through an autobiographical telling of key stories from the life of Minister Dan.
