One of the greatest dangers in church life is when people begin to mistake stewardship for ownership.

God may allow us to serve in a ministry.

God may allow us to lead a department.

God may allow us to teach a class.

But serving something and owning something are not the same thing.

The church belongs to Jesus.

He purchased it with His own blood.

Acts 20:28 (ESV) Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
