United Methodists of Greater New Jersey Comprised of over 500 congregations, GNJ equips spiritual leaders to make disciples and grow vital congregations to transform the world.

The Greater New Jersey Conference of the United Methodist Church (GNJ) is the regional body and central office for professional staff and ministry for the nearly 500 congregations in New Jersey and parts of New York and Pennsylvania. There are more than 50,000 people who worship with us each week. GNJ is one of 57 annual conferences in the United States and 76 additional annual conferences internationally. On Saturday September 12, Bishop Cynthia Moore-Koikoi began her visits to every district in EPA & GNJ with a stop in the Central District. Waretown UMC warmly welcomed friends and colleagues from across the district and led worship in both English and ASL.

The theme of the day was power. Bishop Moore-Koikoi reminded those gathered that in Acts 1:8, Jesus didn't say, "You may receive the power." Jesus said "You will recieve power." Bishop Moore-Koikoi proclaimed, "We have everything we need in the power of the Holy Spirit to do what God is calling us to do."
