What does it mean for God to be our Heavenly Father? What kind of father is God? Scripture shows us the answers to these questions clearly. God is a father who lifts his children up and provides for their needs. God advocates for every last one of his children no matter how far we stray. We don’t have this relationship with God because of anything we did, but because he truly loves us and cares about us.

We can so easily let our selfish expectations keep us from experiencing the full presence of Jesus, especially on Sunday mornings. Let go of those expectations and surrender all that you are to Jesus!

Yesterday was a very special morning of prayer in community. We passed out wristbands with the names of kids and leaders leaving for camp this morning. Pray for individual that is on your band, but don’t let that be the only person you pray for! Don’t stop praying for the students and leaders just because our Sunday prayer service is over. Pray for safe travels and that they would experience Jesus this week in a real way! Pray that their faith wouldn’t just stay at camp, but that they would bring it home with them!
