“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.”
God’s work: a brand new heart, and a renewed righteous spirit.
My work: Ask for them.
And mean it.
A completely new heart because mine is deceitfully wicked, so much so that I can’t even keep track of it.
So He will just make a new one…new motives, new desires, new thoughts and intents.
And He will restore and make new again my spirit and attitude.
Set it back to factory settings if you will.
Replenish and reinvigorate the me that is most real and eternal. Make me more me than the me I had become.
He does all of this.
All I have to do is ask Him to…and mean what I ask.
What a deal.
