Yesterday we looked at some of Jesus' appearances in the Old Testament prior to his incarnation. Here were some questions we were encouraged to consider:

• Are there other stories in the Old Testament where you see Jesus present, revealing himself?

• When appearing to Joshua, Jesus states that he is not on anyone’s side. How does that inform how we apply Jesus to causes we are passionate about?

• Which of those elements of Jesus’ character do you treasure the most and why?

Yesterday we looked at the annual celebration of the Day of Atonement, and how it foreshadows Christ removing both the penalty and presence of sin in our lives.

• What encouragement do you take from the goat that belonged to Yahweh symbolizing the penalty for sin being satisfied?

• What encouragement do you take from the goat for Az**el which symbolized the removal of sin from you?

• How will you take an active role in inviting and observing God to finish the work in you that he has begun?

Yesterday we looked at the story of God bringing water from the rock and how it constituted a trial of God by the people. We were invited to reflect on the following questions:

• Where in your life do you see God displaying patience with you? How does that patience make you want to respond?

• What does the suffering of Jesus teach us about the character of God in a world filled with evil?

• What seems to be your biggest barrier to deeper faith? Does the gospel of Jesus provide a remedy to that obstacle? Why or why not?

This morning we look at a passage in the Old Testament where the Hebrew people symbolically put God on trial. God's response gives strong foreshadowing of the work of Jesus Christ. We will also celebrate communion together this morning. Join us online or in person!

The reasoning is if God would just reveal himself in grand displays of power, then maybe more people would believe in him. But does the Bible tell a different story? We will explore more on Sunday at 10:30am.

Yesterday's questions on the passage connecting Jesus with Jacob's Ladder:

• How does it make you feel that God reached out to Jacob in the midst of his natural consequences for his behavior? What might that mean for you?

• Is it surprising to you that Jesus is not the one at the top of the ladder, but is the ladder itself? Why or why not?

• Spend some time this week in confession and repentance, acknowledging your faults before God and receiving his forgiveness.
