Big thanks to Evan and Amanda from our congregation for putting up this awesome canopy for our nursery's new comfy "garden" nook!

We had a new toddler last Sunday and he beelined for the nook when he first arrived. After watching everyone from the safety of his corner, he came out and started playing with the other children. There's nothing better than a comfy safe space to gather your thoughts and feelings! 🌳🍄🌿🌹🌼🧸

Other places may just let you rent their venue for weddings and graduation parties, but we also have LARPing groups, Qi gong, The Nutcracker, and Senior Citizen Karaoke...among others. It's so cool to see the different ways people utilize our space!

Check out this benefit concert next Friday! If you're upset about how immigrants and refugees are being treated, this is a great opportunity to support two local groups that help them.

FYI, The Raging Grannies are like the blue man group except they're older, they sing, and they're not blue. If you're one of the few who hasn't checked them out before, now is your chance!

This election, so soon after the death of Gustavo Gutiérrez feels like a kind tearing of the fabric of reality.

He wrote:
“We will have an authentic theology of liberation, only when the oppressed themselves can freely raise their voice and express themselves directly and creatively in society, and in the heart of the People of God, when they themselves ‘account for the hope,’ which they bear, when they are the protagonists of their own liberation.

I feel afraid for so many people I know, love and am connected to. And yet, I find in myself a resolve to continue to build worlds that will resist the pressures of oppression.

On a day when many are wondering if the ground may be about to give way: I offer the blessing of oneof our songs: Voices Together 396 - Rooted and Grounded.

May you be rooted and grounded in love,
strengthened in the spirit through faith,
to know the height and depth
and length and breadth
of God’s understanding and grace.

Our Story

Pittsburgh Mennonite Church (PMC) is a member of Allegheny Mennonite Conference and the Mennonite Church, USA and believes God calls us to be followers of Jesus Christ and, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to grow as communities of grace, joy, and peace, so that God’s healing and hope flow through us to the world. PMC is located in the Swissvale community of Pittsburgh and its members live throughout the city and surrounding areas.

We recognize the sacred worth and dignity of all people and celebrate the image of God manifested in the mosaic of our community. We are enriched by diversity in race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, ability, physical and mental health, education, economic standing, and marital status. These beautiful manifestations of difference stand as a call to be in relationship with each other, never an excuse to limit membership or interrupt fellowship in church. God has welcomed us all.
