Hi friends! Pastor Vangie here wrestling with scripture to discern what needs to be shared this Sunday.
We will dig into Matthew 15:21-28. The lectionary reading actually includes Matthew 15:10-20 but I cut that part for the sake of time.
I encourage you to read and sit in both passages before Sunday.
Why do you think these two stories of Jesus were placed next to each other?
What word might God have for us this week?

A message from our sister church in Spokane: Please pray for them and their pastor.
Pastor Vangie formerly served in Oroville and Tonasket, WA in the northern part of Okanogan county. Much of the area is under immediare evacuation.
Pray for safety for the people and the critters.

Audubon Park Church is canceling service for tomorrow, Sunday, August 2. The building will be closed and we will not hold worship.

Many of our church members have had to evacuate including Pastor Geoff and the entire worship team.

The city has also asked that we stay off the roads to allow evacuees to flee safely and for emergency service personnel to travel safely to where they need be to keep people safe.

Our prayers continue for all those impacted by the fires. Please reach out to Pastor Geoff if you need assistance.

GCORR has several great recommondations for book and bible studies.
Check it out! What looks like something we might read together in community?
This one is about people with disabilities and what they reveal about God's love.

What if the Church reimagined disability through the lens of justice instead of pity?

My Body Is Not a Prayer Request is a four-session GCORR book study that invites individuals and small groups to explore disability justice, faith, and belonging through Scripture, reflection, and conversation.
