a vision to establish a new ministry. He was instructed by God to make this ministry unique…one that would do things as instructed by God, and not one that would conform to man! So the journey began with much praying, fasting, and laying before God. Prophet Outlaw, in his excitement, began seeking God for a Church name. After several weeks had passed, and God still had not revealed a church name,
Prophet Outlaw realized that this was one of those times in which he needed to touch and agree. He then asked a friend to lay before God for a church name. God answered by saying “How would you describe the works of the ministry of Prophet Outlaw? The words “divine”, “deliverance”, “restoration”, and “transformation” came to mind. The church name The Divine Church of Deliverance and Restoration was agreed upon: however, God changed it to its current name, The Divine Church of Deliverance and Transformation! The mission of the ministry was now set! The ministry was designed to deliver the captives from the hand of the enemy, and then to change them into the beautiful creatures that God has designed them to be. The butterfly was then chosen as the Church logo to re-enforce the mission that was set for the church. What better way to symbolize true deliverance and transformation, than to show how a caterpillar that was once an ugly, furry creature that crawled around on the earth, has been transformed into a beautiful creature with many colors and with wings. Now that the Church name had been revealed, and the mission of the ministry was set, Prophet Outlaw felt that it was time to make things official on earth. The first church meeting was held at his home on April 15, 2005 with five members present (Charlotte Ford, Sheranda Outlaw, Glennis Tripp, Evangela Watford, and Tasha Wilson). The Divine Church of Deliverance and Transformation was officially established in April 2005, and Prophet Brian E. was officially elected as its Pastor! Now, we had the church name, we had the mission of the ministry, and we even had the Pastor …but WHERE’S THE CHURCH? Pastor Outlaw knew that the new ministry was not financially able to build its own church, so the process started all over again…….. praying, fasting, and laying before God. It was in June 2005 that God led Pastor Outlaw to New Jerusalem Ministries in Suffolk, VA to meet with its Pastor, Elder Harper, concerning the use of the church building. Both Pastors were in agreement, and the first service of The Divine Church of Deliverance and Transformation was held on Sunday, July 3, 2005. It was during this service that Bishop J.C. Wilson, Pastor of Prayer and Faith Church of Deliverance located in Portsmouth, VA, placed charges upon Pastor Outlaw, and creed him as Pastor and Founder of The Divine Church of Deliverance and Transformation. Because of his steadfast faith and devotion to his church, The Chief Bishop Robert Branch decided to creed Pastor Outlaw as a Bishop, in June 2009. On July 20th, 2009, we changed locations to the heart of Suffolk. Our Dedication service was November 8th, 2009 at 3 pm. Our guest church was El Bethel Worship Center, under the leadership of Bishop Cross. Ever since this church has been established, there have been many ministries established. For example, we have the Kitchen Ministry, Pastor Aide ministry, Men’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, and many more ministries. There will be more ministries to come. This year has brought forth many challenges. Some heartache, some headaches, some disappointments, some lies and rumors, some misunderstandings, some doubt, some fear, and much criticism from others. Yet, it has also brought forth some love, some patience, some kindness, some strength, some deliverance, some breakthroughs, some broken yolks, some personal growth and development, and some lost to CHRIST! Whenever there’s a VISION, there’s suffering with the rewards. The Divine Church of Deliverance and Transformation would like to thank God for all that He has done within the past year, and we are standing firm on His promises, for what He says SHALL BE SO…then IT SHALL BE SO!
