A gentle reminder that there is something special about gathering together with God’s people. Life gets busy, schedules get full, and sometimes it can be easy to let church attendance become just another thing we’ll get to “when we can.” But there is encouragement, strength, fellowship, worship, and God’s Word waiting for us when we make gathering together a priority. Hebrews 10:24–25 reminds us to encourage one another and “not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together.” If you’ve been missing church lately, we want you to know that you are missed, you are loved, and there is a place for you here. We’d love to worship with you, grow with you, and encourage one another in our walk with Christ. Make plans to be in God’s house this week! We’ll see you there.

Sermon Recap — 2 Timothy 2:19–26

This morning, we were reminded that God’s foundation stands firm, regardless of what is happening around us. Even when it feels like the opposition is winning and we may be tempted to give up, God calls us to remain faithful.

Paul gives us a picture of what it looks like to live as someone who belongs to Christ:

* Purified — “Depart from iniquity.” We are called to turn away from sin and pursue holiness.
* Prepared — We should be ready and willing to be used by God for every good work.
* Pursuing — We are called to pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, while running away from evil and running toward what is good.
* Patient — As servants of the Lord, we should not be quarrelsome, but gentle, teachable, and patient with others.

Following Christ is a marathon—it’s not a sprint. Growth takes patience, discipline, and intentionality. We have to take our walk with the Lord seriously, continually asking ourselves: What needs to change for me to become more pure? Am I pursuing God wholeheartedly? Am I prepared to be used by Him? Am I patiently reflecting Christ in the way I treat others?

God’s foundation stands firm. Our job is to remain faithful, keep pursuing Him, and allow Him to prepare us for every good work.

📖 Sermon Recap 8-16-26

In 2 Timothy 2:14–18, Paul gives Timothy important instruction about the priority of God’s Word and the responsibility we have to handle it correctly. With confusion and false teaching spreading, Paul reminds Timothy to stay focused on the truth rather than getting caught up in arguments and empty discussions.

🔹 Stay grounded in the truth. Not every discussion is worth having. We can become so focused on arguing about things that aren’t important that we lose sight of what truly matters. To put it simply, if something contradicts the Word of God, don’t teach it or accept it as truth.

🔹 Be diligent in studying Scripture. Paul tells Timothy to be a workman who does not need to be ashamed, correctly explaining the word of truth. We should know God’s Word well enough that we can faithfully understand it, apply it, and teach it.

🔹 Know why you believe what you believe. False teaching can spread quickly when believers aren’t grounded in Scripture. We need to be prepared to give an answer for the hope we have and know the biblical foundation behind our faith.

🔹 Let God’s Word guide your life. Psalm 119 reminds us that God’s Word cleanses our way, serves as a lamp to our feet and a light to our path, and is forever settled in heaven.

The opposition is coming. The world will offer confusion, false teaching, and ideas that contradict Scripture. That is why we must dig into the Word of God—not just know what we believe, but know why we believe it.

7-26-26 Sermon Recap. ✝️

2 Timothy 1:13-18

Paul urges believers to hold fast to the truth of the gospel—to grip it tightly and never let go, especially when opposition comes.

The gospel is the good news that:

* God became man in Jesus Christ.
* Jesus lived the perfect life we could never live.
* He died as our substitute for our sins according to the Scriptures.
* He was buried, proving He fully bore the punishment we deserved.
* He rose again three days later, conquering sin and death.

Paul also gives us two contrasting examples. Phygelus and Hermogenes chose the easy way out, turning away from Paul when following Christ became costly. Onesiphorus, however, remained faithful, refreshing, encouraging, and serving Paul without shame.

The challenge for us is clear: Don’t compromise the gospel. Know what you believe, hold fast to the truth, and reject any distortion of God’s Word.

One day, each of us will stand before the Lord. On that “Day,” will we be like Phygelus and Hermogenes, who turned away when it was difficult, or like Onesiphorus, whose faithful service was remembered and who obtained mercy from the Lord?

May we be found faithful, holding fast to the gospel and courageously serving Christ until the end.

Sermon Notes Recap ✝️

“Embracing Our Calling” 2 Timothy 7-12

Fear often keeps us from stepping into what God has called us to do. It partners with feelings of inadequacy (“I can’t do this”), rejection (“Nobody will listen to me”), and failure (“I’ll just mess it up.”).

But God has already given us the cure:
❤️ Power over inadequacy.
❤️ Love over rejection.
❤️ A sound mind over fear of failure.

Jesus tells us in Matthew 16:24 to deny ourselves, take up our cross, and follow Him. When we stop relying on our own strength and trust Him, fear loses its grip.

Take opposition and turn it into opportunity. God has given us everything we need to fulfill our calling. Don’t let fear keep you from sharing your faith or walking in obedience. Through Christ, fear can be conquered, and lives can be changed for His glory. 🙌📖

In case you missed Bro. Chuck’s sermon on the 9 Biblical Principles of the Declaration of Independence, here it is! This was on July 5th, sorry for the late posting. This sermon reminded us that many of the foundational truths expressed in our nation’s founding are rooted in God’s Word. Whether you were with us that Sunday or couldn’t make it, we encourage you to read through the notes, study the Scriptures, and reflect on how these biblical principles still apply to our lives today.

It was a great day to be in the Lord’s House! We started a series titled “Opposition and Opportunity” where we will be studying 2 Timothy. Today, our sermon was “Stirred, Not Shaken” and focused on 2 Timothy 1:1-6. Bro. Chuck introduced the book of 2 Timothy and briefly talked about spiritual gifts. Next Sunday, we will continue the series with a sermon titled “Embracing Our Calling” in 2 Timothy 1:7-12. We hope you will join us!
