More about our brother-in-Christ Jimmy Farris. While preparing a few snacks for visitation tonight, my mind wandered to all the years Jimmy has been with us at Second Ave. For many years Glenda came to church without him. She has often told how, when Bro. Dugal (my father) or the pastor would visit, Jimmy would go out the back door. Prayers were answered in January 1995, under the pastorate of Bro. Roy Craig. Jimmy surrendered his heart and his life at that time and has been a faithful member and worker since then. As his health deteriorated, he eventually had to stay home. The church congregation has missed him and Glenda terribly.
And, I think I can speak for the whole congregation when I say we appreciate and honor the service Jimmy gave to his country during the Vietnam war. Not only did he pay a heavy price as the effects of agent orange ravished his body, but his family was affected also.
Thank you for being so faithful to our God and our church.

Remembering our faithful member Jimmy Farris-July 2, 1948-May 26, 2026. Visitation will be May 29 at Second Ave/2nd Avenue from 5-8 p.m. with service at 1:00 May 30. Burial will be at Union Cemetery, Sadie, Louisiana

Services will resume February 8th. Sunday School at 10:00 and morning worship at 11:00. Bible study begins at 5:30 Sunday night.

Services are cancelled for February 1st. Weather allowing, services will resume Feb. 8th.

There will be no services on January 25, 2026. Services will resume February 1.
