Johnny Ray Jackson, Sr. Obituary
Johnny Ray Jackson, Sr., 85, of Stonewall, Mississippi passed away on May 16, 2026 at his residence.

He was born on December 28, 1940 to Ulmer and Pearl (Fagan) Jackson in Stonewall, MS.

Johnny Ray was a lifelong member of the Rolling Creek Volunteer Fire Department. His hobbies included farming, woodworking, gardening, cutting grass, cooking for family and teaching them his secret recipes, and taking his grandkids rabbit and deer hunting. His favorite time of the year was having Christmas Eve lunch with his family. He had a love for his community of family and friends. He was famous for his Homemade Oreo Ice Cream.

Johnny is survived by, Wife, Virgie "Cookie" Wade, 4 Sons, Johnny Ray (Tonya) Jackson, Jr., Danny (Shelia) Smith, Bruce (Tammy) Martin, and Charles (Tammy) Martin, Step-Son, Kenny Wade, Daughter, Kim (Fred) Hansard, 3 Step-daughters, Emily (Gary) Donald, Angie (Billy Joe) Gibbs, and Mary (Tim) Johnson, 29 Grandchildren, 45 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, 2 Sisters, Sybil Parker and Patsy Sisson, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

He was preceded in death by Father, Ulmer Jackson, Mother, Pearl Jackson, 1st Wife, Patricia Jackson, 2nd Wife, Ethel Jackson, 2 Daughters, Rachel Robinson and Tammy Jackson, Great-granddaughter, Kaitlynn Murray, 5 Brothers, Jimmy Jackson, Leon Jackson, Ernest Jackson, Mabry Jackson, and Woody Jackson, 8 Sisters, Beatrice Yarbrough, Doris Privett, Merle Hamrick, Mildred Dunnam, Connie Nabors, Bernice Jordan, Ruby Woolley, and Eunice Jackson.

The family would like to express a heartfelt thanks to all of his caregivers, Mandy Hill, Sandra Long, and the Staff at Hospice Care Group of Quitman, MS.

Pallbearers are Kyle Chancelor, Ridge Jackson, Dyson Thomas, Ryan Smith, Craig Jackson, and Tommy Jackson.

Visitation will be held Sunday, May 17, 2026, after 5:00 pm at Wright's Funeral Home, Quitman, Mississippi, and one hour prior to the service Monday, May 18, 2026 at Stonewall Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 18, 2026, 11:00 am at the Stonewall Baptist Church, with Rev. Ray Files, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Stonewall Cemetery.
