PRAYERS AND GIFTS
*With One Voice:
Lord, teach us Your ways and lead us on a level path. Give us understanding to follow Your decrees, that we may keep them with all our hearts. Help us to recognize Your presence in our community and in the lives of those around us. Strengthen us to be faithful stewards of the gifts You have entrusted to us, and empower us to bring hope, healing, and peace to the world . Amen. (September)
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE
THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil: For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen!
Offering/Offertory Building funds are collected on the 4th Sunday of each month.

NEW/OLDTESTAMENT LESSON Romans 13:8-14 and Psalm 119:1-6 NRSV
Owe no one anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery; you shall not murder; you shall not steal; you shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore, love is the fulfilling of the law. Besides this, you know what time it is, how it is already the moment for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we became believers; the night is far gone; the day is near. Let us then throw off[a] the works of darkness and put on the armor of light; let us walk decently as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in illicit s*x and licentiousness, not in quarreling and jealousy. Instead, put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires. The word of God for the people of God. Thanks be to God! Amen!
Psalm 119:1-6
Happy are those whose way is blameless, who walk in the law of the LORD. Happy are those who keep his decrees, who seek him with their whole heart, who also do no wrong but walk in his ways. You have commanded your precepts to be kept diligently. O that my ways may be steadfast in keeping your statutes! Then I shall not be put to shame, having my eyes fixed on all your commandments. Amen!
THE WORD “Love Conquers All”
HOLY COMMUNION (EACH FIRST SUNDAY)
*AFFIRMATION OF FAITH No.881
I believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic** church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
