🎶 Friday Worship Song: “The Commission” by CAIN

Before Jesus sent His disciples out, He gave them peace. Before they went into the world, He gave them the Holy Spirit. And the same risen Lord still sends His people today.

This song reminds us that following Jesus is not only about receiving His love; it is also about carrying His good news into the world.

We are called.
We are equipped.
We are sent.

🌟 What does it mean to be a disciple? 🌟

A disciple is someone who follows Jesus, learns from Jesus, and tries to live like Jesus every day.

Kids can be disciples too! We follow Jesus when we:

🙏 Pray and talk to God
📖 Listen to God’s Word
❤️ Show kindness to others
🤝 Help someone in need
🕊️ Forgive when it is hard
📣 Tell others that Jesus loves them

Being a disciple does not mean we are perfect. It means we are learning, growing, and following Jesus one step at a time.

Jesus says, “Follow me.” And that invitation is for everyone — even children!

Kid-friendly reminder:
“I can follow Jesus today.”

How did you learn the faith?

For most of us, someone taught us. Someone prayed for us. Someone invited us. Someone showed us what it looks like to follow Jesus.

This Sunday, we’ll be talking about what it means to be disciples who are **called, equipped, and sent**. Jesus does not wait until we have everything figured out. He gives us His peace, fills us with His Spirit, and sends us to share the good news.

Join us for worship this Sunday at 9:30 AM as we hear from Deuteronomy 6:4–9, Romans 10:8–15, and John 20:19–23.

Come be reminded:
We are called.
We are equipped.
We are sent.

3 Takeaways from Sunday’s Sermon: “Fatherly Wisdom for the Road Ahead”

1️⃣ Trust God when you do not know the way.
Proverbs 3 reminds us not to lean only on our own understanding, but to trust the Lord with all our heart. The road ahead may be uncertain, but God is already there.

2️⃣ Ask God for wisdom when life gets hard.
James 1 tells us that when we lack wisdom, we should ask God — and He gives generously. We do not have to figure everything out alone.

3️⃣Build your life on the words of Jesus.
In Matthew 7, Jesus reminds us that storms come to everyone. The difference is the foundation. A life built on Christ will stand firm when the winds blow.

This week, remember:
Trust Him. Ask Him. Build on Him.

Yesterday in worship, we were reminded of a truth we all need to carry into a new week:

**“The road ahead is uncertain. But the Father walking it with you is not. Trust Him. Ask Him. Build on Him.”**

Life does not always come with clear directions. Some of us are stepping into new seasons, facing hard decisions, or walking through things we did not expect. But thanks be to God, we do not walk alone.

This week, may you remember:

* **Trust Him** when you do not understand the path.
* **Ask Him** for wisdom in every challenge.
* **Build on Him** so that when storms come, your life stands firm.

We are praying that the Lord will guide your steps and give you peace for the journey ahead.

Happy Father’s Day!

Today we give thanks for the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, father figures, mentors, and spiritual leaders who have helped shape our lives with love, wisdom, patience, and faith.

We also recognize that Father’s Day can bring a mix of emotions. For some, it is a day of joy and gratitude. For others, it may carry grief, absence, longing, or complicated memories. Wherever this day finds you, may you know the steady love of our Heavenly Father, who is faithful, compassionate, and near.

“The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him.”
— Psalm 103:13

May God bless and strengthen all who seek to lead, love, guide, and encourage others in His name.

Happy Father’s Day from Midway Methodist Church.

As we prepare for worship this Sunday, we invite you to listen to “Build My Life” by Pat Barrett.

This song is a beautiful reminder that Jesus is worthy of our trust, our praise, and our whole lives. It connects with this Sunday’s message as we talk about the wisdom God gives us for the road ahead — trusting Him with all our heart, asking Him for wisdom, and building our lives on the firm foundation of His Word.

No matter what season you are walking through, the safest place to build your life is on Jesus.

Take a few minutes today to listen, worship, and pray:

Lord, help me build my life on You.

Join us this Sunday at 9:30 AM as we worship together at Midway Methodist Church.
