Our Story: A Testimony in Time, 174 Years Plus...

The beginning of Bethany Methodist Church goes back before written records to the days of the old "Campground Meetings." In the old days the "Big Meeting" was the highlight of the year. Central, and above all, was the deep yearning to hear the Word of God. In August of 1848 the people of the community decided to organize a church and called it "C

amp Ground." The original sanctuary stood for one hundred and sixteen years and in 1864 the name was changed to Bethany. Bethany Church stands on the threshold of a period of ever increasing ministry for God's Kingdom. While thrilled in humble gratitude for the glory of her past service, let us this day view the future with an enlarged vision of what Bethany Church might still become, and together, press on toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. If you are looking for a church home, we invite you to come be a part of our church family at Bethany where love abides and hearts, minds and doors are always open. We loved seeing so many smiling faces, laughter, and little ones with baskets full of eggs! It was such a joy to spend time together as a church family.
