It is my pleasure to place this manual or tool, "A YEAR OF FEASTING," into the hands of God`s people. God, in his mercy and grace has brought much healing to my family. He started leading me into a deep study on the seven feasts of God, as seen in the Bible. I started asking God how this related to "God healing my family?" Where was the connection? The picture began to unfold. Just as God "freed" the Israelites and brought them our of bo***ge from Egypt, he had also freed our family. The Israelites were free but had no idea how to stay free--so fifty days later he brings them to Mt. Sinai and gives them the ten commandments. If they were obedient to follow them- blessings would come on their lives; but if they chose to disobey--curses or consequences followed. (This is also where generational curses can come into play- which is what my family was dealing with) God began to reveal to me his plan or blueprint for the lives of his people. You see it is always God`s desire for his people to live a victorious life from the start. He has always made provision! The feasts are the very heart of God. He uses a word in Genesis-season. Most think of winter, spring, summer, or fall. In Hebrew, this word is referring to God`s appointed days. He established appointed days, special days or one might say holidays, as a time to come close to his people. God is always blessing us--but this is a special time of renewal and refreshing. A time of pulling his people back into alignment. You see, we have a tendency to get off track. This was a time to reconnect with God. Just as a husband and wife might get away for the weekend, God wants to come close to where we are, and reconnect and re-ignite that love relationship with us. Not only are the feasts a time of remembering what God has done in the past and looking for what he is fixing to do in the near future; but it is also a way of pulling us back into alignment to him. For instance, the Feast of Unleavened Bread causes us to review and check ourselves for pridefulness and arrogance and sin. This is unacceptable if one wants to live in freedom. The Feasts of Trumpets is not only a time of getting ready for the coming of the Lord, but if he tarries, it causes us to check ourselves to see if there is unforgiveness, if we have offended anyone, have we been tithing, or is there anything we need to get right with God. The Day of Atonement is a time to let God wipe your slate clean and start the New Year with a fresh new beginning. The Feast of Tabernacles is a picture of God living and communing with us forever. And we know he is coming soon to receive us unto himself, and there we will live with him forever! The feasts of God should not be taken lightly --he created the feasts with us in mind. They are special opportunities that only come once a year. They are for our benefit. It is our heritage and inheritance. As believers we are grafted into the family of God. Having Jesus Christ literally inside of us--we should naturally want and DESIRE to be near our maker and to please him by living our lives holy and acceptable, pleasing to him, free from bo***ge and living a life of abundance!!!! May God`s abundant blessing be upon you, Sonya A. Mozingo
