We are sad to announce the home going of Ruth Ann, but we are so grateful for the hope in Jesus that she had and the wonderful legacy she left us. Please keep her family in your prayers.

Ruth Ann Tyler Coleman, 91, of Spout Spring, VA, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at her home. She was the loving wife of Warren Alden Coleman for 73 years.
Born in Lynchburg, VA, on March 5, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Eva Tyler Wade and Herbert Howard Wade. Ruth was a member of Reedy Spring Baptist Church for over 60 years. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and sang in the choir. Ruth worked as a solderer at GE & Ericsson for 35 years. She made it her point to share her exceptional home cooking with everyone, especially her renown biscuits. No one left her house hungry. She was a member of Appomattox Moose Lodge #975, Women of the Moose, and Appomattox Farm Bureau Women’s Committee.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Wanda Rae Coleman and Glenn, Johanna Coleman Smith, and Lisa Coleman Plummer and husband, Matt; 10 grandchildren, Klayton Baker and wife, Alysia, Keith Baker and wife, Valerie, Dana Woody and husband, David, Jeremy Smith and wife, Felicia, Donald Johnson and wife, Devetria, Michael Johnson, Stephanie Christian, Donna Coleman and husband, Mike, Brandon Johnson, Jennifer Coleman; 20 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Bobby Wade and wife, Carol, and Wayne Wade; one sister, Tammy Wade; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Harrington and husband, Jim; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Wade; one sister, Mildred Irby; stepmother, Kathryn Wade; son-in-law, Robert Smith; and one aunt, Ruth Elliot.
A funeral will be held at 2 pm, on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Reedy Spring Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Dan Davis and Dr. Robert Phillips, II. Burial will follow in Reedy Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the residence.
