“The River Conference Superintendent Search Committee is pleased to announce the nominee for our next Superintendent, Rev. James Leman.
James Leman has served the conference on our Ministerial Appointments Committee since 2017 and as the Spokane District Superintendent since 2019. He has pastored at Spokane First FMC in Washington State for the past 19 years.
James stated during the interview process, “My vision for the River Conference is that we would continue becoming a group of churches over a large geographical section of the map that loves Jesus, orders our lives around Jesus, invites other people into a relationship with Jesus, and becomes increasingly aware of the work Jesus is doing in and through us. We need to tell the story of what God is doing.”
In January, you will get a chance to meet Superintendent nominee James Leman at our regional town hall meetings (details below). James will outline his vision and plans for TRC moving forward. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions.
We encourage you to invite your delegates, staff pastors, and other ministry leaders to this event.
After the town hall meetings have been completed, a vote will be brought to the Annual Conference via online ballot in early February. The new superintendent will be officially appointed at our Leadership Summit June 12-13, 2026 in Denver Colorado.
