Dear First Church members,

I hope you have been able to find safety and shelter during this difficult time.

We made First Church available to those who needed to evacuate today and several found shelter in secondary spaces while others were able to return home.

I want to thank Dan McElroy for making accessible the Instant Church Directory and sending out the initial email. Thank you Shari Murphy for tag-teaming to check in on every person on the list. And a huge thank you to Gary and Peggy King for opening the church up to those who needed to take shelter. Thank you also to Karen and Jerry Jensen for checking in on the folks at church and to Joy and Joel Diaz who were open to offering their home and resources.

Some have asked if we will have service tomorrow. If First Church is not placed on the official evacuation list in the morning, we will go ahead and gather together. We will forego our usual service and have a time of reflection and prayer.
First Church, you are amazing.
Let’s continue to pray.
