🎒✏️ Now That School Has Started: Sowing seeds of faith in the next generation
The first week of school is officially in the books! The initial scramble of finding supplies, adjusting to new routines, and filling out calendars may be settling down, but the true work is just beginning.
Now that our students and teachers are back in the classrooms, we have a beautiful opportunity to look ahead with anticipation. How will the Lord work in the lives of our students this school year? And how is He calling us to come alongside them as parents, grandparents, mentors, and citizens?
If you are raising or supporting school-aged kids, there is nothing more vital you can do for their education and formation than to cover them in prayer. The school year demands a lot of your time, but the Lord has tailor-made tasks for your schedule. We can rest in His grace instead of constantly playing catch-up.
Here is our prayer challenge for the community as the school year gets underway:
👥 Find a prayer partner. Scripture shows us the wisdom of God sending His people out two-by-two. Praying with another believer helps us anchor our hearts and stand firm.
🏫 Pray for your local campuses. Whether you are waiting in the carpool line or praying from home, ask the Lord how He wants you to intercede for your local schools.
📋 Expand your prayer list. Remember to lift up not just the students and teachers, but our local school board members, administrators, and leaders who shape the educational environment.
There is immense power in claiming our local schools for the Lord’s presence, protection, and purpose. Whether you are packing lunches every day or supporting the next generation from a distance, God will fan the flame of your prayers.
Let’s stand together in faith, trusting this promise for our youth this year:
“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.” – Psalm 92:12-13 🙏✨
