Assalamu alaykum dear brothers and sisters,

We are very pleased to welcome Imam Azhar Subedar, a respected Islamic scholar and community leader from the Dallas–Fort Worth area, to Maryam Masjid this evening at 7:30 PM, inshaAllah.

This is a last-minute opportunity that came together quickly, and we are grateful to be able to share it with our community.

Imam Azhar is also co-author of I Am the Other, a thought-provoking book exploring Islam, Muslims in the West, and the importance of understanding and coexistence.

Summer Qur’an Session for Boys

Assalamu Alaikum,

Based on feedback from parents and consultation with our boys' teaching team, we are pleased to offer a free six-week Summer Qur’an Session for boys. The girls’ program will continue as usual for the students currently enrolled.

Boys’ Summer Session

Dates: Saturdays, June 20 through August 1, 2026
Time: 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Please note: There will be no class on Saturday, July 4.

Students of all Qur’an-reading and memorization levels are welcome. During the six-week session, all students will work on memorizing the same selected surah from Juz’ 29.

At the end of the session, each student will receive a prize recognizing his individual achievement and memorization progress.

Registration:

Registration will take place on the first day:

Saturday, June 20, 2026
10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Classes will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. and conclude at 1:00 p.m.

We look forward to welcoming your child and spending a beneficial summer learning and memorizing the Book of Allah together.

Thank you to everyone who attended our community meeting yesterday. It was inspiring to see so many of you step up with ideas, support, and a desire to help our Spokane Muslim community continue growing and developing the services our families need.

For those who were not able to attend, we hope to see you at our next planning meeting once it is scheduled. We will keep the community informed, inshaAllah.
