Sunday Recap

Salvation can't be earned, bought, or achieved through our own efforts. Salvation comes by the grace of God through faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a gift, freely given.

When we receive that gift, our response should be a desire to become more like Christ and to serve one another. We are called to love as we have been loved, forgive as we have been forgiven, and reflect His grace in the way we live each day.

"8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God. 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." — Ephesians 2:8-10

“Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. -Matthew‬ ‭16‬:‭24‬ ‭ESV‬‬

• “Deny themselves” means putting God’s will above selfish desires or personal comfort.
• “Take up their cross” means being willing to endure sacrifice, hardship, or even suffering for following Christ.
• “Follow me” means living according to Jesus’ teachings and example every day.

This verse teaches that true discipleship involves commitment, surrender, and faithful obedience—not just belief in words.
