En este mensaje, exploramos 1 Juan 2:12–17 y las diferentes etapas de madurez cristiana que Juan describe: hijos, jóvenes y adultos en la fe. Reflexionamos sobre cómo estas etapas representan el crecimiento en nuestra relación con Dios, y cómo cada creyente está llamado a seguir avanzando hacia una mayor madurez en lugar de quedarse estancado espiritualmente.
Hablamos de cómo los hijos espirituales son aquellos que saben que sus pecados han sido perdonados. Esta es la base de la vida cristiana: entender que, por medio de Jesucristo, hemos sido perdonados y llevados a una relación con Dios. Como hijos, los nuevos creyentes son introducidos a la bondad, la misericordia y la gracia del Padre.
Luego hablamos de los jóvenes en la fe. Estos son creyentes que están creciendo en fortaleza, aprendiendo la Palabra de Dios y venciendo al maligno. No solamente conocen el perdón de Dios, sino que también están aprendiendo a mantenerse firmes, resistir la tentación y vivir en victoria por medio de la verdad de las Escrituras. Su fuerza viene de la Palabra de Dios que permanece en ellos.
También hablamos de los adultos, o padres, en la fe. Estos son creyentes que han llegado a conocer profundamente a Dios. Han caminado con Él, han experimentado Su presencia y han adquirido un entendimiento profundo de quién es Él. Su madurez no se ve solamente en su conocimiento, sino también en su capacidad de guiar a otros hacia una relación más profunda con Dios. Ellos ayudan a otros a crecer, a entender el corazón de Dios y a caminar fielmente con Él.
Un tema principal del mensaje fue la presencia de Dios. Hablamos de cómo la presencia de Dios es profundamente poderosa, maravillosa e increíble, y de cómo está disponible para cada creyente. Dios no llama solamente a unas pocas personas a conocerlo profundamente; Su deseo es que todos Sus hijos experimenten cercanía con Él. En la presencia de Dios descubrimos Su corazón, Su propósito y Su voluntad para nuestras vidas.
También reflexionamos sobre cómo Dios nos da propósito a medida que llegamos a conocerlo. Mientras descubrimos quién es Él, comenzamos a entender quién quiere que seamos y cómo quiere que cada uno de nosotros viva. Nuestra identidad y propósito no se encuentran aparte de Dios, sino por medio de la intimidad con Él. Mientras más lo conocemos, más claramente entendemos la vida a la que Él nos está llamando.
Finalmente, fuimos desafiados a examinar nuestras propias vidas y preguntarnos dónde estamos en nuestra madurez espiritual. ¿Seguimos viviendo solamente como hijos que saben que han sido perdonados? ¿Estamos creciendo fuertes en la Palabra como jóvenes? ¿Nos estamos convirtiendo en creyentes maduros que conocen profundamente a Dios y ayudan a otros a entrar en Su presencia?
En última instancia, a medida que maduramos en nuestra fe, nuestra mayor preocupación debe llegar a ser lo que Dios piensa acerca de cómo estamos viviendo y en qué estamos invirtiendo nuestro tiempo. La meta no es simplemente saber acerca de Dios, sino conocerlo personalmente, caminar en Su presencia, crecer en Su Palabra, vencer al maligno y ayudar a otros a descubrir la plenitud de vida que se encuentra en Él.

Message summary from yesterday: In this message, we explored 1 John 2:12–17 and the different stages of Christian maturity that John describes: children, young people, and adults in the faith. We reflected on how these stages represent growth in our relationship with God, and how every believer is called to continue moving deeper into maturity rather than remaining stuck in one place spiritually.
We talked about how spiritual children are those who know that their sins are forgiven. This is the foundation of the Christian life: understanding that through Jesus Christ, we have been forgiven and brought into relationship with God. Like children, new believers are introduced to the goodness, mercy, and grace of the Father.
We then talked about young people in the faith. These are believers who are growing stronger, learning the Word of God, and overcoming the evil one. They are not only aware of God’s forgiveness, but they are learning how to stand firm, fight temptation, and live victoriously through the truth of Scripture. Their strength comes from God’s Word abiding in them.
We also talked about adults, or fathers, in the faith. These are believers who have come to know God deeply. They have walked with Him, experienced His presence, and gained a profound understanding of who He is. Their maturity is not only seen in knowledge, but in their ability to lead others into a deeper relationship with God. They help others grow, understand God’s heart, and walk faithfully with Him.
A major theme of the message was the presence of God. We talked about how God’s presence is deeply profound, powerful, and incredible, and how it is meant for every believer. God does not call only a few people to know Him deeply; His desire is for all of His children to experience closeness with Him. The presence of God is where we discover His heart, His purpose, and His will for our lives.
We also reflected on how God gives us purpose as we come to know Him. As we discover who He is, we begin to understand who He wants us to become and how He wants each of us to live. Our identity and purpose are not found apart from God, but through intimacy with Him. The more we know Him, the more clearly we understand the life He is calling us to live.
Finally, we were challenged to examine our own lives and ask where we are in our spiritual maturity. Are we still living only as children who know we are forgiven? Are we growing strong in the Word like young people? Are we becoming mature believers who know God deeply and help lead others into His presence?
Ultimately, as we mature in our faith, our greatest concern should become what God thinks about how we are living and what we are investing our time in. The goal is not simply to know about God, but to know Him personally, walk in His presence, grow in His Word, overcome the evil one, and help others discover the fullness of life found in Him.
